The fact is, you might well be right! Your position would be described as being a "Deist", or one who believes there might be a "higher power" that instigated all of Creation, but that is unknowable. Theologically, your common sense response would be to revere the world, but to reject all doctrinal teaching. Thomas Jefferson specifically, and most of the other "Founders" generally were Deists. It makes sense in as much as you can't offend God (if He exists) because you have acknowledged He might be there, but you don't run the risk of offending Him by "wearing the wrong kind of hat" (LOL), or praying from the wrong text!

"Religion" is what is wrong with the world. True Christianity is not about religiosity, it's about a bonafide relationship, person to person communication and fellowship with Jesus Christ, God made man. It isn't about how good you have been, how many times a day you 'perform' an act to persuade or convince God (the True One or otherwise) to like you or accept you because of how hard you are trying. It's about placing your trust in Jesus Christ's death as a justified payment for your life's wrong doings. God's love reaches down to the lowest places in life to offer Hope. The ONLY Hope any of us will ever have is Him. It's not what you know or what you do in life that matters. It's Who you know. Jesus Christ is the ONLY Savior who has conquered death by raising from the dead. I've never heard any such claims for Allah, Buddha, Muhammad, Shiva, Baal or any other gods humans have concocted up. This is not an argument for why my 'religion' is better than yours. Jesus Christ needs no defense. Truth is truth wether it is believed by you or not.

It's not about religion, it's about getting to know God. Getting to know Him personally. Confessing that you're a sinner and becoming a son and friend of the God who created the universe. That's what's important. If you believe in God, then ask Him for wisdom on which "religion" to choose. I don't think God wants us to be in a "religion" though. He wants us to be in a relationship. Now, in that relationship, it is great to hang with others who have the same relationship, such as people in a church. If you believe in God just start asking Him to show you what's right and wrong. God bless you so much for being willing to try to serve Him.

The bible says that: "In the beginning, the Word was with God, and the Word was God, and the Word was with God." "The same was in the beginning with God." "All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was not made."
So if the Bible is the Word of God and God is the Word, then the bible also says that the devil believes in God and trembles, meaning that is fearful and afraid. It is not enough to believe in God and I think that religion will kill you and send you to HELL, cause God through Jesus became the second Adam to recreate the Garden of Eden relationship with Adam and God had a relationship with Adam and Jesus came to reunite man with God and have a relationship just as it was in the Garden of Eden. Jesus said that: "I came to give you LIFE and Life more abundantly, (the Garden of Eden LIFE) Adam was so full of God's Glory that He didn't know that he was physically naked, now that he sinned and disobeyed God by eating the forbidden fruit, knowledge of good and evil and right from wrong fruit. I could go on and on, but like I say Religion it self will kill you and send you to HELL! God is not seeking religion, but relationship through Jesus!

No I can not because I see no need for religion either I believe completely in God and in Jesus but I do not get involved with religion I personally think when you have your own knowledge of God and relationship with God that you are closer to him because you come to know him on your own instead of the influence of others, in saying that tho I do believe in the bible as well I just do not think church and religion is important.I am not against it but it is not important to me.

I cannot argue with you that my beliefs are better than others because I accept many people's ideas. There are no wrong or right ideas and I wish more people felt this way. What I can do for you is answer your first question, I do not see the need for religion either. There are some people out there who want to belong to something, anything and than there are others who want power, so that is religion for you.

religion is like doing what the bible tells u. for instance, u dont HAVE to go to church, but the whole goal of christianity is to spread the word and get closer to God, and church is a great way to do that. and so is praying. so whether ur "pentecostal" or "baptist" u still all believe in God and are christians. religion is just doing what God tells u. the actuall part of a personal relationship with Jesus is not a religion, its a RELATIONSHIP. i hope this helps!

Religion shows god you are trying to make a connection with him and respect him more than anyone on earth. You've been put on this earth by him. You respect your mother and would not leave her side, so do the same with the reason your mother even had you! Give god your full attention and show him he means everything to you only if you truly mean it. Believing is only the beginning.

I'm a Catholic, but I never think that it's in any way better than others. I don't attend church at all, because I keep God in my heart and all. I find that people who go to church are show-offs, they want to put on a show to tell everyone how devoted and dedicated to God they are. Well, what's the point? Also, I think churches are too commercialized. Why do you think churches look so grand and elegant? It's because of all those donations! If you really believe in God and keep Him in your heart, then that's all He needs from you.

We gotta start thinkin about the word Religion! Religion is Man made. As a Christian i believe in God and Jesus, that doesn't mean that i have to be in the church for the rest of my entire life! The Church is ment for other chirstians to come and learn something about themselves and others. then after that you Go home or go somewhere. Your Relationship with God is not supposed to be only in the church. it's a way of life! That you choose for yourself!
