I street ride with a dirt jumper but want to switch over to BMX so what would be best for street is a better question.

Use the front brake, Then no front brake, Then switch back until you feel comfortable enough to switch over completely to no front brake at all.
If you plan on doing stunts on Flatland or Freestyle you will want to keep the brakes, But switching over to Bmx Dirt the front brake is not necessary. For Bmx Street only, You may want to keep them on the bike.

That's a good question. Personally, I have front brakes on mine, because I just feel more comfortable in terms of my riding safety.

Front brakes in my opinion do nothing but hurt people. Especially on dirt.

If you are racing, I went without. Shaves weight, and they aren't necessary. Freestyle, however they are a must
