It is up to each of us to find our truth. To each their own. As long as you don't hurt anyone else by words or deeds.
Some people are afraid and need to convince themselves that what they believe is the truth and they want everyone else to believe what they believe. Most of those people are not confident in themselves. The ones who are confident don't see the need to push their "truth" on others.

Because the nature of truth is OBJECTIVE not subjective. Two people cannot look at the same apple and one say "that apple is red" and the other person say "that apple is pink." The apple indeed only has 1 color. But just because person B doesnt see the truth doesnt mean the truth doesnt exist or that there is "many truths."
Kinda like the difference between fact and opinion.........
Fact: Cheese is a dairy product
Opinion: Dairy farms suck
Objective truth helps us to understand the world around us. Subjective truth only helps us understand ourselves, the subject. Subjective truth doesnt deal with right or wrong, merely what I like or dislike.

well, because the 'truth' is an established thing. it can exist personally as a more passive revelation, but socially it lives on and endures at the end of a process that is arguementative. and to the victor belongs the spoils.
the angry haste is all about trying to (be part of a group that) imposes your (group's) will on others (groups).

People want to get their views across, When two versions of the truth conflict people have arguements....When you add numbers to this arguement it can lead to War. My advice keep your truths to yourself and let people come up with their own truth if they need one. The day you die you'll know who's truth was the truth or you may not....Just live your life people.....for those in search of the truth your living the truth so there is no need to search.

Everyone wants to know the truth. There cannot be two truths.
Either it is or it isn't.
To me that is very important. If it is a lie then lets say so.
The main reason we are in this mess in the world today is because of a lie.
Satan was the father of the lie and told Eve: You won't really die, god is lying to you. Well, you see her around anywhere?

Jesus is the TRUTH and Way to believers in Christ. Whatever others claim to call the truth, is their personal truth. Those that stand on their beliefs, consider them self not wrong. Right? or Wrong? It's all relative to how you believe or not believe, and not many, want to be prov en wrong ,Or to be open to other possibilities.Wars are waged on what people believe or not. Age old question...What is Truth?

I had always assumed that Western religions, i.e. religions that believe in one lifetime, one chance, rather than reincarnation, chose to proselytize because they thought that people needed to be saved in this lifetime or else face eternal damnation. After being on here for a while, I see that this isn't the case, as it seems to be more about who is right and who is wrong than attempting to show love and save souls.
So, honestly, I don't know.

Yes, we are all on personal journeys. It's a matter of not stepping on each other's beliefs in the process. This leads to arguments and wars. But the natural world is very violent, so perhaps our violence is nothing out of the ordinary.

Everyone is individual - some people are in a birth order where maybe they're fighting to be on-top more... lots of reasons people 'need' to be right. Maybe they're insecure.
I actually choose to "agree to disagree" and use that many times instead of arguing.

Because one truth impinges on another.
Christians impose thier beliefs on non-Christians, Atheist don't want Christian belief imposed on them, etc.
The only way to make the other guy stop is to convince him he's wrong. Hence the arguments.
