Any number of reasons. The first of which is that our culture and our language tend to confuse Love with Romance. Too many humans are so involved in the search for Romance, that they ignore Love when it is right in front of them.

This is further confused by the fact the unlike Love, Romance fades with time and almost always causes heartbreak.

Although many have felt Love from their parents, especially their mother, few are taught how to recognize love when it does enter their life. It is hard to express a feeling that one is not aware of.

In addition, too many people "think" about their emotions instead of just "feeling" them. It is hard to Love if one is constantly thinking about Love and how to find it.

Fear: the antithesis of Love.

What if we love the wrong thing, or the wrong person?
What do we give when we love, but our trust that the object of our love will not betray us?
And how often have we been betrayed?

Why do you think so many profess love for an invisible being, all-powerful, all-knowing, and always trustworthy?

Love is not a liberating emotion. It is an emotion that binds us, with duty and obligation and responsibility.

And yet what joyous bonds these are. To make happy those we love, we crawl through fire, wade through pain, and we do not count the cost to ourselves. We give freely, expecting nothing.

And it is the fear of what it will cost us, what pain we will endure, what reward we will receive that keeps us from love.

That is why Love gives rise to Hope. Hoping for the best is what keeps us from fearing the worst. Love is its own justification, but if there is something else that helps us to achieve Love, it is Hope.

Hope that we can give Love and Hope we will find ourselves to be lovable.

When we Hope, we learn to understand ourselves. When we learn to understand ourselves, we learn that we are lovable. When we learn that we are lovable, we learn to understand others. When we learn to understand others, we learn that others are lovable. When we learn that others are lovable, we Love them.

Whether they Love us depends upon where they are on that path.

Peace and Love to you, Digi.

I guess we don't find it hard to love but hard to express our love .
Its a pure, unselfish and a high emotion and needs a garden accordingly to be bloomed .
The fear of misunderstanding or rejection works in adverse direction. If these fear factors are erased, love will find a way . And it generally does where there is a strong will power .

digilook, people have trouble feeling love when they feel seperated from GOD,the source of unconditional LOVE. any one with purity of heart can find unconditional LOVE in their own heart. As pure sunlight, passing through water crystals, changes to the colors of the rainbow,GODS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE,passing through the mental concepts and emotions, changes into love/hate. Mental concepts also create up/down,in/out and good/evil. LOVE Whistle Britches

Because love takes work, time, and effort... for the very reason that it is worth it. Hate is selfish and easy because it takes no self control or regard of others emotions or experiences.

Just don't confuse Love with Being in Love. True LOVE is work, is sacrafice and a giving of yourself; it's when another person becomes more important than yourself.

Being in Love is a lot easier, attraction, elation, magnetism - the 'love' part is the work.
