I think about mad cow disease when I am cooking my beef and if it is under prepared I sometimes get scared and think, "oh no, what if I am the next case of mad cow disease." So yes, I think about it when I prepare and eat beef. Beef and tuna fish are the only meats I eat since I don't care for poultry. I also worry about heavy metals because I eat a lot of tuna-melt sandwiches. I guess you could say the media has done a lot to make me scared even when I am trying to enjoy a peaceful repast.

Good answer, Juan! Beef in the U.S. is safe to eat. There are laws as to what you can and can not feed cattle. Any beef by-products are forbidden so all they get is grain based feed. The head and spinal cord are not used for anything but the rest gets used. We feed our grandkids the beef we raise. I wouldn't do that if I thought there was a remote possibility it would hurt them.

no not at all, the odds of getting mad woman's disease is very slim if you look at the cosmic theory of the equation of how and why human body parts were first put in cattle feed along with dead cows. with that said I will tell you for a fact that cattle waste from slaughter houses is used in other animal feed, such as dog, cat, and chicken. does this make you scared of your pet?

Yes, I worry because mad cows are removed from the human food chain, but their manure gets converted into fertilizer and put onto organic vegetable gardens. I worry that this explains the behavior of most vegetarians.
