No. Drinking that inhibits you from performing daily tasks, having healthy relationships in combination with the refusal to quit drinking regardless of the consequences makes you (or your friend) an alcoholic.

No I do not think so. I started drinking when I was about 14. "MoonShine". I have drank ever since. You have people sthat can drink most, if not all their lives and never become addicted. It is like the three drinks that business men have on their lunch break. They think nothing of it until they stop; and then it hits them, I need a drink. Some people can handle it, and some cannot. I can drank 18 beers and feel nothing. So why don't I drank 18 glasses of tea? I love the staste of beer, and I even make my own. Take my youngest son for instance, if he dranks just 3 beers he is wiped out. He has totaled five cars, and the last accident he spent 9 weeks in intensive care. Did that stop him. Hell No. I think now he has settled down and going to church and running the video services that is broadcast over the world. Yes he and his wife have changed, and I think the good Lord for that. Doctors do not know how he survived the accident.. I wish him & his family well. I live within 13 miles of him and the only time I see my family is if I happen to go to Church services. There is a wall between us that is I don't think is correctable. HIS WIFE....

No, not really, its when u cant STOP drinking when u know u had enough, alcoholics are dependant on alcohol to numb the senses, its their drug of choice, when u get as bad as drinking hot beer, straight from under ur bed as soon as u wake, and finishing off other ppls drinks, stale or not, and craving the drink when u run out and know u had enough, thats when u should realise ur an alcoholic, bein an aussie, i see it all time, especially among alot of shearers and im not sayin all shearers r alcoholics, dont get me wrong, but its a wider problem than any 1 realises, it wont be long b4 the government starts puttin labels on bottles saying too much consumption may cause alcoholism, damn, we got iwarnings about tobacco on smoke packets, so why not...lol... but drinking in moderation every day wont make u an alcoholic, as long as u know when enough is enough! : )

No, unless the amount is a fifth or a case of beer! I usually have a glass of wine with dinner every night and that does not make me an alcoholic. Enjoying any alcohol in moderation on a daily basis, say one drink, is nothing to worry about.

To fit the criteria of being an alcoholic, two conditions must exist simultaneously. One is the physical craving for alcohol, the other is the psychological craving. Drinking everyday does not make someone an alcoholic, but it is probably an indication of a problem drinker.

I don't think so. My dad drinks every day, and he's not. How do you know if you're an alcoholic? If you drink and are unable to control how much you drink, you are an alcoholic. Also, if you find that your life goes down the toilet when you drink, you are an alcoholic. Or, if you find yourself doing things that are illegal or terribly embarrassing every time you drink, you could be an alcoholic.

If you're only drinking 2-3 beers a day, thats fine! If you drink everyday to get drunk, then yes, you definitely have a problem! You may want to intervene with this person who drinks everyday, if you think they have a problem! Good Luck!! :)

No, absolutey not. You can only be an alchaholic if you drink an excessive amount. If you don't drink too much, but only have a shot or two each day, or a beer each day, that doesn'nt make you an alchaholic.

Not sure. Ask yourself WHY u drink every day. If it's just a habit, try to change your habits & see if you feel different. Maybe it depends on how many drinks we're talking & other personal factors. Email yer question to a rehab or AA & see what the pros say. Best wishes.
