Some people have disabilities and even though they are 25 - 30 years old they may only have the mental capacity of a 5 or 6 year old and need to wear a diaper for protection of their clothes.
Someone like that isn't going to be able to change themselves properly so someone has to do it for them. It's unfortunate but there really isn't many places where you can take a 5 year old in an adult body and change his diaper so I'm sure the seat of the car was the only place available.
Too bad you had to observe it because it doesn't sound like you are too understanding about it. Hopefully you will never be in my position. I have to wear diapers 24 / 7 due to a medical condition and I don't have a choice in the matter.
Fortunately I'm able to change them myself so you won't ever have to watch.

My mom wears diapers. She has a degenerative brain disease that is killing her and she can't control her bowels let alone stand on her own. My dad has to assist her whenever she goes to bathroom so this means he will often change her diapers in public (although not in a parking lot where everyone can see her). My dad has changed my mom's diapers in public restrooms before and has even aided her going to the bathroom on an airplane more than once. Did it ever occur to you that the mom who was changing her son was doing so because he needed help doing it and couldn't do it on his own. Maybe he was retarded or brain damaged. It is okay to laugh now but someday we will all need somebody to take care of us either because of old age or failing health. That boy is lucky to have a mom who loves him enough to bear the burden of his illness and to not care what other people think of her changing him in public. Peace and Love.

Perhaps that person has a disease/sickness that prevent him from telling when to use the restroom. It is most likely down syndrome. Down syndrome is characterized by a combination of major and minor abnormalities of body structure and function. Among features present in nearly all cases are impairment of learning and physical growth, and a recognizable facial appearance usually identified at birth.

You should not be freaked out by it.There can be many reasons why an adult would have to wear diapers.Don't judge them.It could be because of bladder control problems or a physical or mental disability.

I guess you have been living under a rock all of your life. Adults wear diapers when they aren't able to go to the bathroom. Why were you standing there staring at them?

There is two reasons for this he may have been mentally challenged or he's a big freak and she is too for changing it !! But there must be a logical reason I think he may have been mentally challenged unless you are making a joke!!

I've only seen that on TV, but I probably would've had front row to actually see that real life... Wow! To be a fly on the wall in that house, right? You know, some people (mostly guys) get off on that. But to bring it outside your home??? Thats crazy!
