My grandma is ... very ... idk. When two of the grandkids get in a fight, she always takes ... "Jimmys" side. never the other child's. He will punch, cuss, and brutally injure the other child if he gets mad, will deny it, and my grandma will believe him regardless of the evidence, She will defend him if he did anything at all. It is ridiculous, and I have no idea how I shoudl deal with it. please give advice and if this is some sort of disease for old people tell me. thanks so much!

the problem is you cannot critisize jimmy at all, or she flips out. or critisize her.

I have mentioned unfair treatment, tried to talk to her about it, and ignored jimmy, but he freakin practically livers there. She thinks its sad that he doesnt have an avid dad, and she allows his mom to party and get drunk and do stuff with her boyfriend while he is being watched by her. SHE IS HIS GREAT GRANDMA TOO! His grandma, her daugther, does nothing. GAHHh!

ya know my mom is the same way with my son , she will take his side no matter what, anything he says is the way it was . and my other 2 boys she loves but mom plays favorites with her grand children, and she played favorites with her children i dont think it has to do with just old people. but my son the one she always sticks up for loves my mom very much always gives her alot of attention lots of hugs and always tells her how much he loves her and thats way she is the way she is by him.

Your grandma's favorite should be given the "tooth for a tooth and eye for an eye" treatment. By so doing, he will understand the pain he inflicted on the other kid.

You can not change your grandma's attitude without disrespecting her. The old woman is just into her Jimmy and not much could be done about that except staying away from her and Jimmy.

I think you should sit down and talk to her about it, but don't be rude. Just start the conversation by saying something good the other child has accomplished and take it from there.

She is old and has choosen her favorite and there is nothing you can do about it.

You might want to mention to her that you have notice the difference in treatment she has for the grandkids.

You need to inform your mom and dad.....what is wrong with you???? Since no one knows what your family status is and if you have no one to tell of the abuse, tell the guidance counselor at school.....don't wait until something tragic happens.
