Exercise and a good physical job will work
every time.
It also helps to focus on somebody else's
problems.
I hope this helps.

Anxiety drugs are a crutch that enables you to avoid dealing with the problem. There are so many unpleasant side effects from these drugs that they create a whole new problem. Most antianxiety drugs are unnecessary, but they make the drug companies billions of dollars, and perks to the physicians who perscribe tham.
Most anxiety is really just like advanced self-absorbtion. Quit being so self absorbed. Focus on other people. Quit focusing on your own discomfort, worries, and insecurities. Other people have them, too.
Be more extroverted. Notice other peoples' good qualities and point them out to them, by means of compliments and other positive observations. Ask people questions that get them talking. Ask others to share their thoughts and opinions. Draw them out.
You will make people feel good about themselves when they are around you and they will want you around. You will gain populatiry. You will also gain more confidence in yourself.
You will begin to realize that you are not alone, and you do have more in common with other than you think. You will feel more wanted and welcome. You will like yourself more.
It also helps to give yourself permision to not have to be perfect. Go ahead and try something new. So what if you are not an immediate expert. Go ahead and risk making a mistake. Mistakes are merely ways to show you what doesn't work.
Challenge yourself. Out of all the problems and obstacles in your path, you are the one who put 90% of them there. Problems and obstacles are merely opportunities in disgiuse anyway. They are oportunities to 1-improve something, 2-overcome something, and 3-learn something.
You really have no excuses for taking antianxiety drugs. If you think you can't cope, then replace "I can't" with "I am not willing to" and see it from that perspective.
So get out there and start giving compliments and making positive observations about people to them. Start asking more questions rather than hiding behind your anxiety. And quit looking for some quick-fix way to solve all your problems. Look within yourself.

Try Buspar. It has the fewest side effects and is not addicting. Then try Paxil, but get monitored by your doctor. And monitor weight-gain, sexual dysfunction, addiction yourself. WellButrin also works for some, but this is very powerful. Try BusPar first.
