He has a car. He just doesn't want to drive. There is no bus running in the suburbs. So she has to take him everywhere including work. I told her to start blowing kisses at him and yell at him to be a good boy when she drops him off. What can she do?

Why doesn't he want to drive? He may not feel secure in his driving skills. Maybe have him get in a car for a couple of hours with a professional instructor.

Driving is scarey, it is a big responsibility. My son did not start until he was almost 17 1/2, in his words, he did not feel he was mature enough.

I hired a professional instructor and he became a great driver, 3 years now, no accidents, no tickets, nothing at all.

Maybe he is just not ready.

Maybe he is scared of driving. I didnt drive till I was 26. Tell her to ask the reason and if he is scared recommend drivers training. I agree he should walk or ask friends or who ever to help him out. Stop relying on his parents all the time.

Make hime drive. She actually should be somewhat happy that her son isn't one of those kids who once they learn how to drive they never come home ect. Maybe he's not comfortable with it yet, maybe she should take him to a lot and let him get used to it.

Wow, a teenage boy not wanting to drive? Does he have some kind of phobia or is he lazy? that's just really weird to me.

Hmm..now that I think about it, is it possible he's using drugs or alcohol? Maybe that's why he won't drive!

Well, since it is her son and she did not ask anyone on Yahoo.....if I were you, I would mind my own business. On the other side of it.....I had to laugh because I have son and if I was in that position.....he knows that I would NEVER to that.....she is being irresponsible. But, sweetie.......stay out of it......nothing is worse than being a buttinski!!!!

Sign him up for a drivers ed course, and make him do it. If she stops driving him around, then I guarantee he'll start driving.

Stop babying him. Make him grow up or she'll be driving him around when she's 70.
