Why is it, that Muslims are regarded as the violent terrorists, when Christians have killed so many more people in history, and when the bible is more violent than the Qur'an?

Christians even kill more people today (the jews contribute their fair share of bodies as well), think of Iraq or afghanistan, or the LRA in africa.

whynotaskdon I don't like your answers because you always try to manipulate people with events committed by ignorant people who have nothing to do with islam.

If you ask me, all religions lead to racism and violance, Islam doesn't promote violance, nor does any other religion, people do.

While it is NOT true that all Muslims are terrorist, it is true that most terrorists are Muslims. I can see why you’re upset. Society treats you like a terrorist, that breads hate, hate breads terrorist activity and back again. If you don’t like the stereotype do something to make a positive change.

Your second assertion is that Christians have killed more than Muslims throughout history. I will stipulate that you are correct. The key word in your statement however, is “history”. It is in the past and the people that committed them are long gone. Blaming the people of today for the past or trying to fight every battle in history over again will only lead to more death. Christians and Muslims have both committed atrocities; there is nothing to be gained by pointing fingers.

My own opinion is that all religious ZEALOTS are morons. We live in a secular world, people need to deal with it. Stoning women to death for being raped or forcing people to change religion by the sword (as in India) is not what the modern world considers humane or just. Your religion is your business. I don’t care what you do or do not believe. If you treat people with respect they will do the same to you. No man has the right to force his views on others, no man.

Now if your problem is with corporate America just don’t buy their product.

Because most people don't go back 500 years with there grievances. So it happened. Get over it!
But with the Muslims it is still in the present and in the future.
They are dancing in the streets and chanting, saying:" Death to the USA"
If the people in the USA were dancing in the street and carrying signs that said, "Let's go kill Indians, or Mexicans or anyone else than that would raise a level of concern."
But Americans are use to reading in history books that in the past terrible things happened and we are sorry that they did.
Land was taken from the Indians, I live in Indian territory and they fought in world war 2 right along side all American soldiers.
They are brave volunteers in the current war against Iraq.
The same is true of black Americans. They were horrible mistreated and brought to America as slaves.
They are not only brave volunteers in the war against terrorism,
but fight right along side all American soldiers, uncomplainingly.
There heroism and bravery are never questioned.
Most carry high rank in the military.
Americans are not ones to carry a grudge to their death.
Okay it happened let's move on from there.
You stop trying to scare people in the USA and I can guarantee you we will have forgotten all about you in a year. Move on to something else. We have a very short attention span.

The New Testament is the most passive of the three books. I.E. Turning the other cheek. Let he without sin cast the first stone. Love thy enemies. To live by the sword is to die by the sword.

The Old Testament may be as violent, maybe even a bit more than the Qu'ran. I don't know yeas as I have read only part of the Qu'ran. But what I have read is not often a pretty picture. By the way I am not a Christian, Jew, or Muslim, so I might be a bit more objective in my opinion.

You are in error because you dont know what neither the Bible *teaches nor the Quran.

There may have been a lot of violence in the Bible but thats not what the Bible *teaches. Jesus never advocated murder at any time. Therefore if someone is being a good Christian they are not murdering.

Does the Quran teach peace with Jews, Christians, and women? You tell me.......

Quran 009:029 Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

059:011 Hast thou not observed the Hypocrites say to their misbelieving brethren among the People of the Book? - "If you are expelled, we too will go out with you, and we will never hearken to any one in your affair; and if you are attacked (in fight) we will help you". But Allah is witness that they are indeed liars.

004.034 As for those from whom you fear rebellion(wives), admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge(beat) them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them.

Jesus never hurt anybody but the Great Prophet Muhammad exiled 1 Jewish tribe and slaughtered another and also tortured people. The Bible never teaches to inflict suffering on anybody, the same cannot be said for the Quran.

I don't know why people don't want to talk about today, let's talk about that.
Yesterday in Chicago, 10 people were killed in gang violence and in NY 22. None of then were killed by Muslims or were Muslims.

Where did I find the information? Chicago Sun-Times in a page middle of nowhere in tiny title. NY Times in a page middle of nowhere in with a tiny title.
Article in NY Times few days ago about a rape is done every 12 minutes. While I am typing this answering a rape is in progress.
Are they done by Muslims too?
I can list 100 things which we sum up with surely exceed the number of terror caused by some nut job Muslims in just one day. But NOOOOOO we need to focus on ALL Muslims because they are all terrorist.

You used a good word...history. While other religions have evolved through the centuries, Islam remains the same barbaric, violent religion it has been since the days of Mohammed. Also, the Quran is filled with instances of Mohammed making peace with his enemies only to kill them when they were not looking over their shoulders. If a Muslim were to live by the actual words of the Quran, one cannot argue against Muslims being violent against the Infidels.

I am sick and tired of hearing from Muslims that Islam is a religion of "peace." Well, thank Allah Islam is such a "peaceful" religion. Can you imagine if it weren't??!

The Muslim community leaders in the U.S. continue to make excuses why there is a segment of Muslims that are terrorists. Instead of condeming them unequivocally, they make excuses for that behavior. Outrageous!

Unfortunately for the modern world, the Muslims have been conditioned by their dictatorial regimes to have one thought, the same as the regime. There is no spectrum of opinions in the Muslim world, there is no freedom of expression, freedom of thought, freedom to live life freely (exception is in Turkey).

It's time for Muslims to take accountability for their religion and culture. Stop spinning, and address the fact that the Muslim culture is one of the most oppressive and violent cultures, against its own people, and certainly against other cultures.

For those who believe that the extremist element in Islam is small, the numbers are staggering. There are 1.2 billion Muslims in this world. Lets take a very liberal view that only a very small percentage of Muslims are exterme, while the rest of the Muslim world is very peaceful. So if only 10% of Muslims have extreme point of views, and may be a threat, and must be dealt with, meaning dealing with 120 million Muslims! How about 1%? Then you must deal with 12 million Muslims. How about 1/10 of a percent? Then you must deal with 1.2 million Muslims. The numbers are staggering! How do you propose dealing with even the "very low" figures of 1.2 million Muslim extremists?

It would be to the benefit the World to rid of Hezbollah, Hamas, the Syrian and Iranian regime. It must be done to finally have a chance for peace in the world.

Uh, have you seen the news?

The Bible doesnt kill any longer (fortunately). Islam states that those that do not agree should be beheaded. If thats not terroristic, I dont know what is. Of course, threatening someone with eternal damnation is also terroristic - but much less beleiveable in this day and age, because most of us have figured out that Hell doesnt exist. But some crazy Muslim with an AK47 does exist, and he scares me!

What people mean is really all about what is happening right now. I mean, there are no Christian suicide bombers, but there are some Muslim suicide bombers. All religions, I regret, have had a history of violence, and I think that it was wrong since I also believe that religion = peace.

Plain fact is that the current threat is from suicide bombers who claim to be Muslims.
