There was a book called John L Sullivan and his America and the only person I know of who was knocked by John L Sullivan in the third round was Herbert Slade. He was a Maori (New Zealand) its ironic considering John L Sullivan drew the racial barrier line yet we Maori are black people so go figure.

that question is just to vague, John L. walked into countless saloons boasting he could lick any man in the place and many took him up on it. there was a guy besides Corbett that gave him trouble, also rounds were not timed then the round ended when one fighter's foot left the mark, a round could last one punch or dozens.
