You should ahve paid your bill and been an honest person by doing so. Don't give me crap of how you ran into hard times ad how you have to support your kids. If you can't pay your bill, you don't deserve the car. Walk, take the bus or get a bike. I hope they do take your darn car.

Call the collections team that has been hounding you. See what type of arrangments that you can setup. I worked inbound collections... I used all of these techniques (posted on your other question) to help someone out.

Oh, i forgot. The other trick we used when i worked at the auto finance company was

We would divide the amount that you owed into three equal payments that would be added to your next 3 months worth of payments. so if you owe $1000 that would be $333 extra tacked onto your payment for the next three months.
(Be warned though - it still shows as late on your credit report) But they got to keep their car and not worry about the dreaded repo man.

To lighten the mood a little, three fun things I dealt with while working Collections.....

A guy hadn't made a car payment in 6 months. repo was sent out, the guy bought 2 cows so that he could shoot the repo guy. He lived in a a state that you can shoot first and ask questions later if you have cattle. (the cost of the cows was more than the backpayments on the car)

A guy buried his car in his backyard when he found out his car was going to be repo'd

A lady set her car on fire when the repo man came.

Keep it locked up in the garage until you can pay the finance company. Repo agents are NOT allowed to break into your home or disturb the peace doing their work. Most repo agents now use a "snatch and grab" tow truck and can grab a car and be gone in less than 30 seconds. If your car is parked on the street or in your driveway it's fair game to the repo man!

See if you can't come to an agreement with the finance company. Explain that you just got a job and want to put it right with them but you won't be able to do that if they take the car. If the first person you speak to is a jerk, politely ask to speak to a supervisor. Keep going up the chain until you get some satisfaction.

Good luck!

if your car is on a trailer, they can't repo it. until you can find someone that can loan you a car trailer, put the car in the garage or someone else's house until you are able to pay for it,or just call the bank and claim hardship to give you some time to pay it off.

Try calling the bank or whoever you owe the money. Explain the situation. The Repo man is a last resort for a lot of banks, they rather work with you.

Have your car in a garage when not in use or keep it at a friend's house. They can't repo if they can't find it.

Talk to your bank and see if they can work something out.

if you can't work out a deal with the finance company, hide the car, but they will probably find it anyway, most of the repo men are good at what they do

make arrangements with your bank for a small personal loan, tell the bank manager your situation and I'm almost sure he or she will assist you, if not talk to family or friends . good luck
