There is no "best" way. I'd try Craig's List first because it is free and lots of people use it. If that doesn't work try a classified ad in the paper. Expensive but I have more success with that before the internet than any of the other methods. Use Edmunds and Kelly blue book to research the value of your vehicle first. But keep in mind that actual prices in your area may be higher or lower so use the newspaper for a reality check.

Best way ? or Easiest way ? or Quickest way ?
Easiest way or quickest way is to sell it to Carmax, however, remember they are going to give a a wholesale dollar amount for it because they will turn around & recondition & resell at retail.
Also there could be "complications" if you do not yet have a free & clear title OR if it is an older vehicle Or if it is a High mileage vehicle.
Classified ad may take longer but you may get more $$$$
but you have more resposibilities selling to a private party.
ebay? I certainly wouldn't buy (or sell) a vehicle online because it's too much of a "site unseen & buyer beware" situation for me , but lots of other people (I guess) do it.
Too risky for me though,
