I have medium length, wavy hair. I also have dandraff, and have used Sun In. I straighten my hair, and have thick hair. I am also 14. Should I get my hair relaxed. Please help!

A relaxer may give you the results you want for your hair, but it will cause your scalp to be dryer than it already is. The chemicals in relaxers are very harsh, especially on the scalp.
Once you relax it...There's no turning back! The relaxer has to be cut out or grown out. If you keep your hair in its natural state, at least you will be able to alternate your hair styles (wavy or straight) If you get the relaxer, it will be straight all of the time.
I DON"T recommend that you get a relaxer!

As for the Sun In, its very harsh and it can cause damage and possibly cause your scalp to get drier.

As for the dandruff, Head & Shoulders offers a selection of dandruff shampoos, Garnier Fructis and Nuetrogena T-Gel is a popular shampoo as well. Head & shoulders also makes a product called Soothing Lotion. This is a leave-in conditioner which you apply directly to your scalp. Your scalp needs moisture and these shampoos can help you out with or with out a relaxer. Best Wishes!

well i got my hair relaxed for the first time in june and i am soo happy i've been waiting forever to get it permed but anyway its soo manageable before i ONLY had my hair in cornrows and after so many yrs it got pretty boring so as long as u wash and condition it regularly it would stay healthy and straightening it could damage it so u might wanna stop and i had dandruff but surprisingly i didnt have anymore once i got it permed! you should also wrap your hair at night and trim ur hair regularly to keep ur ends healthy (by the way i'm 14 and had and still have very thick and long hair!!) So yes u should get your hair relaxed (it will be much easier to do ur hair for school) GOOD LUCK!!

Im personally natural! & I luv my natural hair I couldnt imagine having a perm again. But for your dandruff try like a Sulfur 8 or Head-n-Shoulders. But personally I believe you should natural. Maybe you should get a texturizer to help so your hair will be more managable for you. But theirs so many hairstyles you can do with natural hair. You could do 2strand twist, buns, updo and if your bored of your hair style add things like flowers or clips. Make it Fun!

no ur hair is very damaged it will break
stop using sun in it ruins ur hair
dandruff problem take care of that first use head and shoulders
use a treatment for dry and damaged hair than when ur hair is healthy u could relax it

first of for yur danruff try head and shoulers shampoo or sulfur 8 shampoo and know that you will need to use it continuosly b4 u see progress.

i dont think you should relax ur hair untill u've done all that you could with yor natural hair as far as styles ( flast twists, two strands, bantu knots, etc.) once u perm ur hair it will most likely be exposed to alot of heat ( curling irons) and chemicals and could eventually thin out if not done properly. u shoul see a natural hair stylist/salon in ur area to expand your options

i think so, relaxing ur hair, even if u dont straighten it, it makes ur hair more managable.
