Don't ask. That will make them more mad. Just be good. Do extra chores, but not too many then they will get suspicious. They know you're gonna try and get out of it. All kids do. Just don't push your luck, they can extend it at anytime.

Parents will not usually like a grounding because it means that they have to stay in too. If you did something bad enough that they would punnish themselves as well as you, you probably are not getting out of it.

You should apoligize sincerly. Tell them, "I know what I did was wrong and I'm sorry I did it". Then, listen to wahtever they say (even if you are just tuning them out). If it doesn't work, all I can say is, you do the crime, you do the time.
