I haven't had a relaxer in 2 - going on 3 months. What can I do to keep my hair looking good? Is there a temporary fix that will make my hair str8 - other than a flat iron?? Thanks!

I'm not growing it out of the relaxer. I just haven't had the money to get it relaxed.

You can blow dry your hair and than curl it with a curling iron. You could also try wraping your hair to make it last when you do flat iron it. Because the heat can damage your hair so wraping it would help with the heat.

Also depending on what type of hair you have & length you can wash it and then cornrow your hair add some type of styling foam and let it stay in overnight than take the cornrows down in the morning and wear it as a crinkled style.

But just to warn you; dont wait another month for a perm. Because eventually your hair will break out. I am natural and when I stopped perming my hair at the beginning of my transition my hair began to gradually break off in certain sections.

Relaxers are simple to do at home at a low cost. I usually use Affrim or Mazani. These are a little on the expensive side and you someplaces require a beauticians license to purchase them. You can also try Bone Straight - Mild. Base your scalp really well, and follow the directions carefully. If this doesn't work, blow dry your hair very well after washing and conditioning. There is also a product called Straightening Wax (it's in a black jar and it's actually purple wax) that works well after blow drying. I'm sorry I don't know the exact name.

no no no no no...gurl no!!! that is wrong! you have to get your hair touched up on a regular basis! if you dont your hair will get damaged and start falling out! you skipped 2 or 3 months? gurl i hope your hair dosent start falling out! you need to get some money fast and touch it up. or treat it with a henna and placenta procdct.

I don't condone relaxers. Are you growing it out for a particular reason? If you don't get it touched up on a regular basis your hair will fall out. Don't get a style that you can't maintain.
