It hurts like crazy...very tender. Has a knot in it...hard as a rock. Very red. The red area ia about the size of a quarter and the hard spot is a little bigger than a pea. No head on it and no pus. Came up today with no warning. Oh, it is on my breast of all places. Any ideas???

When I've had spider bites (I've also been bitten on the side of my breast, I think they get ya when you're sleeping) It's usually warm to the touch, itchy and somtimes gets a bullseye pattern around it (red and white rings)which is also a sign of a tick bite so keep an eye on it if it seems to get bigger. I usually take an anithistimaine and it goes away. If it's a boil it will be very painful and red, sometimes with some sort of pimple looking head on it.

That's a tough one. I once thought I had a boil but it got so painful that I went to the doctor and it was indeed a spider bite. I'm not really sure that a lay person will know the difference.
Maybe a doctor will answer.

Normally, a spider bite will have two tiny holes where the spider's fangs punctured the skin.

Every spider bite I've ever had has hurt like heck...All I can say is lucky Christy, that hers didn't!

Spider bites itch more then they hurt. You can rarely feel a spider bite depending on the spider. I have been bitten in the face but didn't really feel it- i guess it depends on the spider too.
