me and my girlfriend recently had unprotected sex. I know, I know, bad me. The real question lies in whether or not my girlfried has the possibility to become pregnant because we had sex a day after her menstruation cycle finished. It's been worrying me because if she does become pregnant then I wouldnt know what to do...I suppose the morning after pill would work, however, I don't know if my g/f needs parental consent since she's a minor (17) and we live in Florida. Or if she doesn't need it at all because her chances of becoming pregnant are slim.

There is a chance that she could have gotten pregnant. A girl can get pregnant even on her period. Seman can live in a girl for up to a day. I am not sure if she can get the morning after pill in FL or not but I do know that you have 72 hours from the time of intercourse to when you can take the pill and have it work. But of course the sooner the better. My advise is always have her go to the bathroom after sex even if you use condoms. That way she can get out anything that may have snuck by. Check into Planned Parenthood for the pill they will help and guide you in the right direction.

Her chances if getting pregnant from sex a day after her cycle ended depend largely on the length of her cycles (and the length of her luteal phase, the post-ovulatory part of her cycle.) Since the deed is done already and she is only 17 (and thus probably entirely unaware of when she ovulates and how long her luteal phase is!) I'd strongly recommend contacting Planned Parenthood about the morning-after pill. It's 89% effective at preventing pregnancy and she should not need parental consent to get it from PP. The sooner the better, though; it can be taken up to 72 hours after unprotected sex, but taken sooner it is most effective. While she's there she might want to talk to them about going on the Pill so you guys don't have this sort of scare again. You know you should still be using condoms to prevent STDs, but if one were to break, at least you'd have a second line of defense against pregnancy already in place.

The time before and after a menstrual cycle is the most fertile time for a woman. I love how you're just like "we had unprotected sex....oops." Like wearing a condom slipped your mind or something, but anyways. It doesn't matter WHEN you have unprotected sex. There is always the risk of getting pregenant. Do you guys do this often? You really shouldn't make a habit out of it, it's not just an "ooooooops" and then grin situation. It's serious. So if you kids don't want to have a baby, either stop having sex or use reliable birth control. The point is, she could be pregenant, so get her some help.

Anytime you have unprotected sex, there is a chance of becoming pregnant. She is probably not pregnant, but maybe the scare will make you think twice about having unprotected sex.

well, it amy be too late. You can never be too careful because sperm can survive for up to five days. If you can't get the morning after pill then my advice would be to check into a unplanned parenthood program and consider alternatives. Best of Luck.

You need to remember that no protection can and usually does lead to pregnancy.

You need to be more responsible...she needs to get on birth control and you need to wrap it up.

You knew what to do when you had sex with the girl so there is no need to be worried now...if she is indeed pregnant then deal with it...that is a part of having sex...babies.

I believe your girl is fine but that does not mean she can't get pregnant. The main issue is, why in heaven's name would you want to kill the fetus? That is just wrong, it was not the kid's fault you could not keep your hands to yourself. Stop thinking like a murderer and own up to your actions.
