Simple. First of all, he can't make that contention, because it is a contraindication. The train of thought on the theory of atheism, is that they don't believe in any God, and that, by definition, means you can't also hold the belief of one less God than mine or any other.
Furthermore, everyone doesn't hold the belief of small g gods, for that would indicate an inanimate idol, or statue figure. I don't believe in those either. So therefore, I don't dismiss any other gods, there is no other living God. I believe in the living God of Creation, beside Him there is no other. So I can't possibly understand why anyone can dismiss He who created them.

define:atheism

the doctrine or belief that there is no God
a lack of belief in the existence of God or gods

To be an atheist you must believe that no gods exist, not that other gods do not exist. Therefore the first statement 'I contend we are both atheists' is flawed.

The remaining statements can be used to dismiss the idea that someone else can influence your beliefs, as they in turn are not influenced by others beliefs.

FYI I am an atheist.

As long as there is a belief in a God and/or a higher-being there will always be people arguing and slamming the thoughts of free-thinkers and Atheists and attempts to convert.

I agree that there was never a truer statement yet I bet there will be people attempting to challenge this theory and dismiss it. Then again, who are we to say what is true and what is not?

I am what people like to label as an 'Atheist' but I do not attempt to criticise what others believe however, like you, I will question it.

Much love, The Good Apple xx

Does God believe in Atheists?

I believe but I view athiests no lower in my esteem then those of my religion or any other. Personally, I think the statement is inherantly flawed because it deals with the interpretation of something that cannot be interpreted by limited human minds. What religious extremists and some opinionated athiest extreamists (those narrow minded enough to subscribe to the All Religions Are Evil Philosophy) fail to grasp is that at the core of every religion is one simple message: In the end, it's not what you believe about God (by whatever name you call Him) - its what He believes about you that matters.

Wow. Now that is what I call a statement. You cannot argue with that. It is a very true statement. The way I see it religion is a man made protocol written by people who have studied peoples habbits. It's like life management theories similar to business managment theories that are meant to aid us to live a good moral life and it shows us how we may succeed in doing so. Also how can anyone be certain that there is a Heaven, Jannat or Swarg or a Hell or a Narkh. And how can you be certain That even if there is a Supreme being higher than us its name is God, Allah, Bhagwan etc. You don't and nobody does. And these are things we must not try to understand. What we must understand is that living by these religious teachings, and following them moraly, is the best way to live for ourselves and for others like "Love thy neighbour" kind of thing.

This statement is not saying there is no God. It is simply stating that you must be an athiest too as you deny the existance of Supreme beings of another faith just as he denys the existance of the supreme being you believe in. So in other words you can believe in your creed and your God but also be accepting of other faiths as they more or less teach the same things but is different ways as we all come from different regions. Its like there is not one true language or one true culture and in the same way there is no one true faith.

I love this statement. Its great!

'I contend we neither of us love anyone enough to want to marry them. I just love one fewer person than do you. When you understand why you dismiss all women other than your wife, you'll understand why I dismiss yours'.

Make sense to you?

Perhaps you can better understand why and how MY God has dismissed you.

Bummer.

Argue? There is no argument. God explains, you and I are 180 diametrically opposed. We have ZERO in common. Contrary to what you may have dreamed up.

YOU, are called a scriptural scoffer. (Psalms 1.1-3). read it. It explains you. :)

I'm a Christian.

get over it.

Unless you're talking to an pantheistic polytheist. Then your argument falls apart. On the other hand who could possibly have an argument with a pantheistic polytheist? They would only insist that you were right.
Really, I'm not being flippant.
