I really think you should get the book "Ultrametabolism" by Mark Hyman. He is a physician who specializes in nutrition science. The book is NOT a diet. It's all about how you can make your body healthier, prevent disease and speed up your metabolism just by changing the foods you eat.

I highly, highly recommend it. It will change the way you think about food and you will feel 100 times better.

uhh...okay, maybe it's just me, but I am having a really hard time getting like 1/2 of that question. Sorry, but it doesn't make a lot of sense. What does the whole flu thing have to do with it? No, the medicines you were on for 4 months have not a thing to do with you gaining weight. Um, guess what, if you "eat a bunch of foods," it makes sense that you will GAIN WEIGHT, especially if you're eating crappy foods & not exercising.

Yes, you can "reverse the gaining of weight." It's called, are you ready for this: WEIGHT LOSS. It involves a VERY SIMPLE equation:

calories consumed < calories expended

If you fulfill this equation, you will indeed "reverse the gaining of weight." It's not that hard.

Yes, you can change your metabolism thru proper nutrition, supplmentation, and exercise. If you want some more specifics, feel free to message me, but ummm yeah, I completely fail to see WTF you having the flu in 2002 has to do with you being overweight NOW. Sounds like a lame excuse. Dude, EVERYONE has been sick at some point in their life, but NOT everyone is overweight. Think about it.

Excercise regularly start with 2-3 times a week for an hour then increase to 5-6 times a week for an hour. Start your work with cardio of your choice, then weight training and work on abs everyday. Drinks lots of water, high fiber and high protien diet. Also I heard from a body builder that drinking coffee helps to speed your metabolism too... just take it easy on the creamer and all that other added junk.

Good luck!!

I'm not a doctor, and I don't know your age, but you might want to go to your nearest health food store and ask them. I know that chromium picolonate quickens a slow metabolism and lots of older people use that, but I don't know what it would do for a younger person.
