I bit my nails for many years, all the way down until they were sore and bleeding, often infected. I tried that horrific tasting stuff supposed to stop you from biting your nails, it doesn't work once you have bitten them it is too late and you already have the taste in your mouth so just carry on biting anyway.

Really the only way is will power and using some aids – the thing that stopped me from biting my nails is painting them, one day I decided I was going to make a real effort not to bite my nails, I got myself some max nail growth polish and made my nails look as attractive as possible, this is what made me stop – not wanting to spoil my nails. I use similar nail polish now, clear polish that is not too thick, this keeps my nails looking nice without being too much with normal nail polish, so keeps me from wanting to bite – not that I want to bite, my nails are lovely now and super strong so impossible to bite as I used to. [not to show off, honest]

Good luck!

Ah! Ok, because of my finger nail biting, I have grinded my teeth down and they chip every once in a while. Attractive, eh?

Anyways, the best solution is to go to any convenience store, like Target, and look for stuff called "Bite No More" in the make-up section. This stuff tastes so bad you'll never want to put your fingers in your mouth ever again...ever.

Cut them down and wear false nails! or, put nail varnish on them all the time! then that way, the next time you bite your nails, you get a mothful of nail varnish, and that should put you off biting them the next time! Failing that, theres a specially designed clear nail polish you can buy which tastes like bleach and lasts for days! This will also put you off biting them! Good luck!

that's form of severe and expensive yet I cured myself of my nail biting habit by way of getting acrylic nails (I wide-unfold the purple french look) for extremely almost a 300 and sixty 5 days. there is one caveat...come across a great salon...cleanliness and sanitation are a could desire to! i develop into fortunate adequate to come across an striking salon which develop into referred by way of a coworker and not as quickly as had plenty as a chipped or broken nail nor any style of an infection/fungus you particularly circumstances pay attention approximately. on the two activities I had to bypass someplace else by using time constraints, I suffered broken nails interior of a week. the draw back develop into while i desperate I had had them long adequate (a pair of three hundred and sixty 5 days) and had them bumped off (in addition they mandatory to be bumped off a few situations throughout the era) it develop right into slightly painful and my organic nails have been badly broken, brittle and skinny. you may nicely be thinking why i'm merchandising this at this element...however the tip consequence develop into, after dwelling interior the path of the transforming into out area of my broken organic nails, the end result develop into greater beneficial nails than I had ever had earlier and no urge in besides to chew them. My organic nails at the instant are longer than they have ever been in my finished existence, because of the greater beneficial potential and loss of opt to chew them. that's a brilliant challenge no longer without that's damaging aspects... yet for me, the tip consequence develop into rather nicely worth it! :-)

Why do you want to stop?
I've always chewed my nails and probably always will. Who cares what other people think?
It's better than smoking.

I paid for sculptured nails. The don't taste good, they are hard to chew, and they are expensive to replace. Cured me.
