As a teen, my mom made me attend tons of seminars on
sex and drugs, and basically showed me how to steer
clear of both; of course, I am forever grateful for
her diligence, because it made me who I am today.
Anyway, while I am in no way a fan or promoter of
drugs, one thing i've heard has piqued my curiousity.
Recently, at a community event, I was surprised to
hear the speaker say that the majority of drug
DEALERS, don't actually do drugs. This took me by
some surprise because, I don't know anything about the
drug selling business, but i'd have thought that in
order to know how and where to sell their products,
and know the ins and outs of the drug selling
business, they'd have to know something about the
product. I mean, it's just like someone that comes up
with an invention they want to market...they'd have to
try the invention to know what works, and how to make
it better to be marketable. Anyway, is this statement
about dealers a general belief? It certainly was news
to me.

yes, most of the higher level drug dealers and many others know the harm of the drugs, and they don't care how they work, only that they get rich selling them.
Many in the larger groups, will not even ever be in the same building with the drugs, and on the street many dealers work like this.
You give person one your money, and then wait at a location when a child on a bike rides past and gives you the drug, No way to connect the person you gave the money to, with the drug and the 10 to 14 year old won't be tried as a adult and normally only get probation. ( this was real commom in Atlanta)
They know and learn about thier clients but the good dealers never use ( a person high on drugs can't be a good business person)

It can go both ways. For most dealers it is a rule that they cannot do the drugs themselves because it would take away from there profit, these types are in it strictly for the money. Then you have the dealers who only do it to get high, they wil buy a supply sell as much drugs to make back just the money that they spent out of pocket and then they get to smoke the rest. These ones are doing it only to support there own drug habit, they rarely make any type of profit.

Drug dealers-the big ones are in the drug smuggling, selling and so on to make money and ii order to be successful need a sharped-how could they make decisions and so forth being hooked on drugs. One doesn't have to do to know what the drug is and its already known where to sell and so on.The drug business is dangerous and only those sharp minded and in good health(being on drugs impairs judgement and can't be considered good health) last for a long time. All they need to know is what it looks like and how to get the connections-word of mouth and have money not just to buy the drug(s)but payroll all the people involved and that no depends on where in the drug dealing trade you are-from importer to the ones buying in this country to the supplier to the small dealers who actually get to the those using.

The dealers don't allow themselves to get caught up in that crap because they need to keep a clear head to keep track of the money and the drugs. They had to get the drugs from somewhere and I'm sure there's someone that they have to answer to if something goes wrong. They have to be on the alert for all kinds of stuff all the time. Drugs would just mess that up.

Haven't you ever heard " Don't get high, off your own supply"? What E-40 meant when he said that was that to make a profit, you can't be dipping in your stash! Like on Friday when Craig asked Smokey, "How are you gonna sell bud, but you smoke it?"! You don't need to do it to understand the product, and it's not like they advertise, they know who does and does not want it, and those customers know what they want. Just like they act like drug dealers are justr pressuring people to do it, That is a LIE! I do not know of even one drug dealer that would do that! It markets and sells itself, there's no need to pressure anyone!

Number 1 rule of drug dealing... 'Don't get high on your own supply.' Money is their drug and using will first hurt their sales, and second, make them oblivious to what is going on around them making them more suseptable to getting ripped off or losing track of their product. Its just like anyother business, you wouldn't see a electronic store owner bringing home new laptops every week.

Having lived in Los Angeles for 40 years, it's always been 50/50. Some do, some don't. But most of the ones I've met do, but in moderation.

I've heard this too. It was explained to me that since drugs are habit forming, dealers steer free of using them otherwise they'd consume their own inventory. Obviously, not good for their business.

Yes, it takes a true woman or man to be a parent today.
God bless your mom and mine!
Drug dealing is a losing situation. I live in a metropolis.
Drug dealers always get caught and always end up in jail eventually.

I don't think it's true of all drugs. Pot dealers usually smoke themselves. May be at very high level, they treat it just like any other merchandise, but street dealers might be a different story...
