Is there any natural ways to change your metabolism, I ask because I am a naturally slim person, and I've been trying to put weight on, but I'm not having much luck. So I thought that if the worst comes to worst and everything else fails, I could try this. It's probably not the healthiest option, but that's the last thing on my mind.

I put weight on because I don't eat regularly. I might eat 1 meal in 2 days.
My body doesn't know when it is going to get fed so goes into starvation mode. (So the dietitian tells me)
Most people feel faint if they are used to eating regularly so wouldn't really advise doing this.
I need to eat 3 meals a day to lose weight. At first I would gain weight but once my body knows it is going to get a meal regularly it would help me lose weight.
I know I have to opposite problem to you. I suppose I have changed my body metabolism for the worse.
I also have an under active thyroid due to my stupid eating pattern.
I suppose what I am trying to say it is not an ideal way of gaining or losing weight by changing your metabolism as it can cause other medical problems.

I have a friend who has your problem and it really gets her down. She had a boob job done to boost her confidence as she was a AA cup before now she is a B Cup.
I have noticed she never actually sits or stands still she is constantly on the move from getting out of bed to going back to bed. She can eat more than most blokes I know.
I can understand how it can be upsetting to be too thin and how people seem to see that as an advantage but for my friend it is depressing.
She is a size 6 bottom, 8 on top since boob job (UK size)

you have a good problem.

don't try and take something to slow down your metabolism. that's the worst way to try and gain weight.

best way to gain weight is to eat and hit the gym. muscle is very dense and heavy, so the more you have the more you'll weigh. on top of that you can supplement with protein and carb shakes in increase your daily caloric intake. but fyi, do not take these shakes unless you are combining with lots of weight lifting exercises.

good luck

Yes, it can be done, but expect to put on 5lbs or so a year of good lean mass unless you are training very heavily where you may be able to put on 10lbs.

Consider yourself lucky because you're naturally lean. You need to get a clean bulking diet and make sure your workout program is designed for bulking. There will be an increased caloric intake but the key is to eat the right foods which will help you build lean mass.

AGE. Honest to god. lol My husband was like you, a string bean his whole life, and he tried everythign over the years including this high calorie drink from GNC, where he'd drink like 2000 calories in one big glass (I forget what it was originally for), but nothing worked. Now that he's aging, though, his metabolism is slowing down. He 37 now and he can't eat at all like he used to. He's getting quite a gut on him and is having to change lifelong eating habits. The good news is that he just had his cholestorl checked and it's really low, 160's, and he's never eaten low-fat foods. He's always eaten whatever he wanted over the years, double Whoppers and jumbo fries and shakes and the like. So there IS a good side to it. :) lol
