MC Hummer: I have made no claim. I merely asked a question.

devlsadvoct: If only you had access to the internet, you could look it up. Wait a minute, you do have access.

If you didn't want to answer at all, you could have done so. Instead you have demonstrated that you are willing to criticize something without examining it.

The burden of proof is on those who put a proposition forward. Your blindly quoting: Deut. 28:28 "The LORD will smite you with madness and with blindness and with bewilderment of heart;" as some sort of threat to those Jews (remembering again that Deut. is written by and for Jews) who commit apostasy seems kind of lame.

I have known fallen-away Jews, non-practicing Jews, who seem to have pretty good eye-sight and their hearts were in fact not too bewildered either.

So, rather than asking us to prove it untrue (suggest you read Godel about the null-hypothesis), you go ahead and prove 1) that folks are getting smitten, 2) it is Jews who are committing these sins that are getting smitten, and 3) it is God who is doing the smiting.

Just a little help here from someone who has studied. Best of luck on your reading.

That it didn't happen proves it isn't true, to your mindset. That it might happen now says your using scripture in a way which Jesus preached against, so will you suffer the fate of Saul because you cannot see the love others have for you? It seems like your 10 clicks down the road toward his fate already, turn around, repent, cast off the cloak of self-rightousness and bathe yourself in Gods love where ever it shows its beautiful healing waters. In other words, get over yourself, what was, is no more and never will be.

Nope. I don't even know what Deut is. Give us a clue.
It is amusing though that religionists want scientists to prove that explanatory fictions are untrue.
We would prefer to test ideas in the real world, the natural world, the world that can be measured, understood, explained, predicted and controlled so new inventions can be created for the real benefit of human kind.
Snivel on believers.

Aussiechick has a point...how do you expect nonbelievers to know what the scripture says?

Also, it is impossible to prove that something is NOT true. No one can accurately answer your question in a positive way. Someone might ask you, instead, to prove that it IS true.

Otherwise, it's gonna have to be an issue of faith...

Do you have any proof the FSM 12:37 isn't true?

Come on, Will.

If you're going to ask about a scripture verse, post the freaking verse.
I'm not jumping through hoops to answer something you didn't think was important enough to actually type.

No idea what deut 28.28 says, and certainly not going to waste my time looking it up. Do you have any proof that the Flying Spaghetti Monster does not exist? The only difference I know of is that the FSM was revealed more recently.

Ha ha ha ha ha! HA Ha ! .. Wait ... it's getting hard to see the keyboard ..... why is that pink toad making faces at me??!! I am so astonished!!!

Get a grip.

Just try to imagine what your life would be like if you decided to act on every tom-fool warning you ever heard about. You'd never get out of bed - no, that wouldn't work either ... How about meteorites? The Monster under the bed? The Evil Eye? Who spilled the salt, broke the mirror, walked under the ladder??? How can you be sure??

What is "madness"? My heart is not bewildered, and I am not blind to respecting and loving people of *gasp* other religious beliefs. Madness is in the eyes of the beholder. I personally believe that you are mad and blind for not seeing the indignity and injustice that your religious professes. And "believers" will personally think I am insane, blind, and of course mad. For one, I am a woman. I am already the cause of all the sin in the world. For me NOT to seek the forgiveness of Jesus the Lord and Savior must prove my inherent knowledge of my original sin. For all babies who coo and gurgle, smile, sleep and poop are inherently sin! Of course they NEVER would learn to even think of certain actions as sinful, if they were not preached to BE sinful. As for a bewildered heart....well, that sounds like someone needs a trip to a cardiologist

How can you believe in a loving God and then turn around and believe that he would do that to his own creation? I have proof but, like yours, it is subject to my beliefs and proof only to me.

You can not argue belief with belief, it can not be proven nor strengthened, just compared. Believe as you will and allow others to do the same.
