I mean, if you're not a breeder than you have absolutly no good reason for not fixing your pet! there wouldn't be so many unwanted cats/dogs in this country if people just spayed/neutered their animals. people are sooooooo uneducated and ignortant these days about this topic!!! in my own opinion, if you refuse to have your cats/dogs spayed/neutered then you don't deserve to own them!! when I adopted my 5 month old kitten from my SPCA it was soooooooo heartbreaking to see all those cats/kits/pups/dogs living there. people don't realize or care to realize how huge this problem really is. my 2 year old female cat was spayed before her first heat and my 5 month old kitten was neutered before I adopted him. plus, I have a 10 year old beagle who was neutered when he was a puppy. I did my part as a RESPONSIBLE pet owner now others need to do the same if they haven't already!! I know that the overpopulation of us is sky rocketing to, but to me that's a completly different issue.

spaying/neutering isn't that expensive if you take your pet to your local SPCA!! it will only cost like $20 then!!!

I would NEVER buy from a breeder!!! mixed breed cats and dogs are the GREATEST!!! either I decide to adopt my pets from the SPCA or shelter or they just come to me as strays!! (my 10 year old beagle came from a breeder though. my parents bought him for me.) but don't worry they're regret it. =^-^=

Leylu: you're dead wrong lady!!!! female cats DO NOT have to have to have a litter before they are spayed!!! I have a two year old female cat and she was spayed before her first heat cycle. she's a wonderful cat too and she never had a litter. in my opininion YOU SHOULD DO YOUR RESEARCH before you bash people like me who actually care about their pets well being!!!!! oh, and I may have yelled but the reason I did was because I'm soooooooo sick of people like that individual who let their pets have litters just for the hell of it!!! it's VERY hard for me to be nice to people like her who know what the best thing to do is!!!

You are making an excellent point, dear. Alot of times, people think it'd be cute to have a puppy or a cute kitten, not realizing that these animals grow into adults. I think it's ignorance, but I also believe it's financial also. I have to decide what to give up in my monthly budget to give up if I have to buy dog food. I'm already on a very restrictive budget. I can't afford medical care for my dog. Does that means I don't deserve to have her? She would have been put to death the next day if I didn't adopt her at the shelter. the fee for her adoption included getting her spayed or the shelter will retake her legally. So that works out. Perhaps, you can organize an information day for others. Blitz the neighborhood with info about this. Show pictures of these animals in the shelter. You can do alot with what upsets you. Good luck. You sound like a wonderful person.

Where I live there are also organizations that will do it for free. The cost is not a reasonable excuse. Get your cat/dog from a shelter, not a breeder, and don't breed cats/dogs. Just because your pet is not a purebred does not make them unworthy of adoption. And also, don't just look for puppies. Many older animals need homes too.

I'm having my kitten neutered next month. It never crossed my mind for one second NOT to do it. I know he'll be happier and healthier...and so will I.
Having an animal spayed/neutered is just one of the many expenses of owing a pet. The one thing I could never stand are people who choose to use money as an excuse for not taking proper care of their pets. It's not cheap to own a pet and quite frankly if you can't afford to take care of them, then you shouldn't should have one to begin with.

Because they are lazy, completely irresponsible, and uneducated on caring for a pet properly.
And to the person above who says that it gets expensive, that is completely false! There are Humane Society's, SPCA's, low cost vet clinics in every state in the U.S. Many of these organizations will even do the procedure for free. It's a matter of taking the time out of your life to take your pet in.
People like this should not own pets.

I can see that you are one of those ppl who want the animal kingdom to die out. I'm sorry, but if you do please do not scream at a happy and content mother of a pregnant cat. She was looking for help, and she unlike you wants to raise kittens.I have a friend who gave me a kitten after her kitty gave birth to a strangly numbered litter of 3. And they are all loved. Some ppl care about there cat and others dont but I will say that more do then dont

Same reason your mom didnt operate you so you couldnt have babies. Of course it because they want grand kittens. I cant ever imagine me spaying my cat and dont go crazy on me cuz i know you go crazy . and plus it changes their attitude so thats one reason. I know you wouldnt spay yourself or whatever its called.lol.so why spay ur cat/dog unless its a male i would cuz he would spray all over the place but i dont spay my females i just make sure they dont go out when they are in heat.

Other than the needs of an animal breeder, I think some pet owners are dumb as dirt and not responsible to care for their pets...That or they just don't give a ****.

I saw your response to a women who was asking how long she had to wait before her cat had its kittens and I have to say that you are mean and a little cruel to her!!! Did you know its good to let a female cat have at least one litter of kittens before spaying as the cat will feel unfit as a mother and develop behavioral problems because of this???? Do your reasearch before you bash people!!! did you also know "THAT TYPING IN CAPS IS CONSIDERED YELLING??????????" I'm for spayin and neutering all my animals are but I dont believe in bad mouthing others. constructive critisim is good thou , learn this!
