hahaha..... I'm a junior in high school, and I'm not gonna lie to you and tell you that the upperclassmen are gonna be all nice to you all the time (this isn't middle school, it's a lot different), I can guarantee that the upperclassmen are gonna give you a hard time just cus your a freshman... everyone goes through it when they're a freshman so it's not that big of a deal... and it's not that bad either you'll live... pointers on how to lessen it: don't cock of to the upperclassmen, stop in the middle of the hallway to talk to people (you will get pushed out of the way), don't be a nark, and don't flip out if they budge you in the lunch line... basically every freshman goes through it... so as you move up in the food chain you get to do it to the new freshman also and you'll get more respect from other students....as far as the homework it's not that difficult I slept through most of my classes freshman year and still averaged a 3.0, don't worry bout it too much you'll get through it... it's not that hard and remember that every other freshman is in the same boat you are so you're not the only one.. just be yourself and don't try to act like you're someone you're not and you'll be fine

School is only as hard as you want it to be. Remember you are only there to learn stuff. Everything else is supposed to be secondary. Have a sense of humor and don't take everything personally and all will work out OK. You only do this once, so just enjoy the ride!

i don't know what you've been hearing, so i can't really answer,
but,
there will be lots of challenges as you arrive in a new larger group of people. everyone will be finding their role, their place, and you can pretty much choose what you want to do about that.
some things you can do to make it better:
1. be organized, listen to your teachers and do your best work. remember you only have 4 more years of free education with no bills or major responsibilities, so make the most of it.
2, be good and true to yourself. treat EVERYONE as you would like to be treated, no matter what, and you will be respected.

It's easier than being in middle school (at least, socially speaking).

It can be. High school is a completely new world.
But don't worry; it can be survived.
