Have you never made plans to do something. You have to get ready first.. get all your stuff together.. "percieve' only means to think, to plan ect.

Greetings,
Should you ever pick up a copy of the bible and bother to read it then you would discover that when god created the sun and the moon He divided their time into day for the light of the sun and night for the lesser light of the moon. That is how He determined what would be classified by us as a day. He didn't need some lamebrain to come up with a calander.

This is a question that I've asked many people who are very religious or have been the ones that come to my door, trying to get me to go to church. No one knows. They cannot give me an answer. They cannot tell me, if a day was 12 hours long, 24 hours long or even 100 billion years long. So, your guess is a good as mine.

The word of God was recorded by men. God didn't get out the pen and paper and do it. He inspired men to write it. God is omnipotent and eternal. No beginning, no end. Humans live in a finite world. The writers described what God inspired them to write in the best way that they could.

God is not bound by time - but we are. Time was created for us so we would have a reference point - it simplifies the 4th dimension into a concept we can understand.

the text says god has "arms" and "fingers" etc -- often it uses words that have meaning for us so that we can have a sense of what was going on. the first "days" were defined not by the rising or setting sun, but the cycle of creation for that day -- that is, the day was over when god said it was.

Your question is just one of the many reasons I don't believe the Genesis creation account was ever intended to be taken as historical fact.
