Yes. As long as they are under 18 years of age and living at home with the parents...the parents have a right to know.

No. They do not.
Yes, they are minors, but that doesn't make it the parents' business.
If a girl gets pregnant, it is HER body, and the parents can NOT force her to do something she doesn't want with it.
That is like saying "oh my daughter is a minor and everything she does is my business. i can choose what she does and doesnt do... thats why im going to rape her tonight!"

There are some things that parents should know about, and some things they shouldn't know about.

EVERYONE is entitled to their privacy.

Also, even though they are minors, they are no longer little children. They have minds of their own and can make decisions without parental consent.

Just because the law states something, doesn't mean it is correct. An 18 year old is just as mature as a 17 year old, the only difference is that the 17 year old is a minor.
It just doesn't make sense that a parent believes that it is right to control their child's life until they are 18 and then automatically they no longer care.
So as soon as your daughter is 18, you no longer care about her because the law says she can do whatever she wants?
As soon as she turns 18, you see her as an adult even though she may have the mind of a 7 year old?

You have to stop thinking about the law for a minute.

That is like saying "the only reason i'm not having sex with 12 year old girls is because the law says so. otherwise i'd defineatly be screwing one right now."

Sometimes you have to think OUTSIDE of the law.

It would be nice to have an open relationship with your parents to keep them in the KNOW. I mean you want there advice on somethings such as this not one of your friends to which most of the time friends can be a good and bad influence. But you just want them to know that you are being safe because believe I would worry if my daughter goes out and I don't know what she is doing. Especailly I wouldn't want her to come home and be SUPRISE mommy your gonna be a grandma. But yes it may seem weird of course but always a good idea to do this. Good Luck.

Yes if the child is not legally an adult and they are still legally under the parent's guardianship then the parent should know of any treatment their child receives.

For one thing, the teen may well need their parents' support.

YES I THINK THAT A PARENT SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THEIR TEENS HAVING SEX, AND ABOUT BEING TREATED. WHY, BECAUSE IF THEY ARE STILL LIVING UNDER YOUR HOUSEHOLD THEN OF COURSE YOU SHOULD KNOW, AND JUST MAYBE WHEN THEY NEEDED SOMETHING LIKE THAT YOU WOULD BE THE FIRST THAT THEY WOULD TALK TO, AND LET KNOW, BECAUSE THEY ONLY GOT YOU AS PARENTS, AND THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO COME TALK TO YOU ABOUT THAT, ESPECIALLY IF THEY UNDER THE AGE OF 18.

Depends. If youre close with your parents yes. If you arent then no. Some parents disown you for it. You could always find another adult to consult that you trust when you need help with that.

yes, the parents should know. minors, even though they have minds and can make decisions, they do not always have the best judgement. if they are having sex and getting pregnant, they have already demonstrated poor judgement.

Do you think parents should still financially support their teens with a home, food, health care, clothes etc. If teens feel they should have their privacy, well along with what they think they should have, they should also have adults responsibilities and be independent like adults.
