Does anybody know who Gavroche is?

(it is my dog, but I heard it was somebody else.)
I got the name from a friend.

Yes, it's a sort of French equivalent of Tom Soyer.... I think he is a character from Victor Hugo's book.

Garvoche is a young boy from Victor Hugo's Les Miserables. He is the son of an inn keeper/ scoundrel type guy and chooses to live on the streets. He ends up giving his life for the French rebellion.
