your right no one has every ODed on it or died from it or anything. alcohol is legal and people are dying everyday from the effects of it. I think the main reason they wont legalize it is because 1) The government makes money and 2) they would have to legalize all hemp and since the US money is made out of hemp (which is illegal for anyone to have) their would be much more counter fit money and all that. but I'm sure they could work it out but they just want money. it sucks so just light up in a safe spot away from them cops and you'll be good =) enjoy your weed. and yes id totally be for a world wide petition

Just like any other topic. There will always be people for and against it. Personally, I smoke it. I don't do it all day long. I smoke it at night. I have fun. People that make comments about someone dying from it, is either lying, or not telling the full story. I.E., they did someother drug with it. I don't agree with the "gateway" comment on weed either. I know so many people that smoke it and have never touched another drug. But, there are those who do "speed" and other things, that don't even smoke weed. I think, alcohol and smoking cigarettes is worse than pot. You never hear of people dying from it, yet drunk driving, and cancer kill people daily. "To each his own", I guess! I would like your source for the comment you made about 1 joint being the equivilent of 20 cigarettes Sacredmud. And, if there is PCP in weed, it was placed there, bc pcp isn't in weed. THC is, is that what you mean?

I can't believe no one has really talked about the social economic type problems with pot. I smoked pot years ago, but I'm glad I stopped. My ex was an addicted pot smoker. It put alot of strain on our family. Like the cost was about $100 a week, which always blew out the budget, having to budget for it along with nappies, formula etc for our young baby was just not on for me. We ended up breaking up. Mainly because of pot. Also the fact that he started to become paranoid and sorry for himself and he started thinking that there was no other way in life. He didn't know or want to know anyone who didn't smoke pot and therefore didn't know what really went on in the big wide world. I'm sorry but I'm very against it unless it is only very occasional at a party etc.

People do get in car accidents for being high, its called DUI driving under the influence, and a cop can give you a UA if he suspects you are driving under the influence, Marijuana is not as harmfull as alcohol, so I think as long as you do it in moderation, and dont drive it is harmless, but, it can be addictive, and then you'll be a burn out. so, everything in moderation. I also believe it is time to legalize, since, it is safer than alcohol, and has medical uses.

GM I've been smoking weed for 10 years, and have never tried anything else besides alcohol, so, the gate way theory isn't really true.

No. I agree that it should be legalized. The government should take over the growing and distribution. They can add a tax and actually MAKE money for once... I don't think people would mind paying a tax for the right to smoke and it would take money away from the criminal elements who grow / distribute it now... (They can make it legal for us to possess it but not legal to distribute or grow...)

Good luck! I swear that it's the tobacco and alcohol companies who keep it from happening. It would cut into their profits and they don't want that. I also think that the "gateway" drug idea is false... If anything the true gateway drugs are cigarettes and alcohol...

Some weeds has a dangerous level of PCP. that stuff sometimes can make you seriously psychotic. It also can impair your short term memory. For life. Other times, people try it and then want something stronger. It should be legal for medical use. Not recreational. Smoking one joint has the nicotine equivalent of smoking 20 cigarettes. Any more question?

Plenty wrong with smoking weed, as far as the government is concerned... number one.. no government would risk loosing votes for something so controversial, and in the States (are you from the states?) your guys Government, are like most things PARANOID , and full of FEAR with regards to its attitude toward drugs...hence they will not every try to deal with the issue in a sensible way.. secondly evenif they did, they would have to make sure they could tax it otherwise it would be far to much un taxed money, plus they are worried you might get stoned and read, and learn something,...
either way.... Im gonna get nice and stoned now.... and I dont give a hoot what anyone thinks !! ha !!

There shouldn't be anything wrong with smoking marijuana, especially since smoking cigarettes is acceptable, but can kill you and ohter non-smokers. It's the abuse of something that makes it wrong/unsafe. That's why there are so many laws in place. People don't know how to control themselves, so we have authorities and laws put into place to govern over us. Marijuana is very therapeutic though, on many levels.

For anyone with the genetic disposition to addiction (which one does not usually know until tooooo late) , weed is just a gateway drug to bigger and better things...like cocaine, herion, meth, etc.................. Don't ever believe anyone who says that smoking weed does not affect your brain when driving????????????
