Bayer is a brand name of aspirin. Advil is a brand name of ibuprofen, which is derived from aspirin. Many of the side effects are the same, and the ibuprofen is a teeny less likely to irritate the stomach and has a longer half-life (lasts longer). There is little to gain by taking both (there are certain cardiovascular conditions where it is done for a specific reason, but not your condition).
You did not mention how many times a day you are taking this combination. As a single dose, 2*200mg=400mg ibuprofen, is probably sub-theraputic. But 3*325mg=975mg aspirin is over-theraputic.
Too much aspirin can cause ringing in the ears. In truth if you take this somewhat illogical concoction you will probably get away with it, as long as you eat a good meal before or with it and don't lay down right afterwards.
It is possible to take Tylenol, which is brand name of acetominophen. But, that is to be avoided with many other potential liver toxins including many meds & beer etc. Also, it helps with pain but not with inflammation (and most football injuries involve micro or macro inflammation).
But there are better ideas. One better idea is to stick with the ibuprofen, and take a full theraputic dose, which is 600 or 800 mg ibuprofen. Another idea is to consider seeing your health care provider. Also, your football routine may be excessive in some ways or maybe lacking in others (like flexibility training).
With better flexibility & strength training you may have less micro and macro injuries & hopefully avoid the chronic pain (or knee replacements!) that are too often the penalty for the youthful joint abuse called American football.
Good luck!

They are both non-selective COX inhibitors (cyclooxegynease). I've heard that taking both together decreases aspirins benefits as far as heart health goes. It's probably not a good idea to take two drugs with the same mechanism of action at the same time. I'd be more worried about your liver taking high doses of both at the same time over a long period of time. They are both metabolized by the liver, as most drugs are. I would try to take less, and maybe alternate them. PS. I'm not a doctor, so if you are unsure, please ask your Dr.

Stretching works wonders to deal with muscle soreness. Mild heat works well too. Make sure you're drinking enough water and you are replenishing your salts (gatorade, etc). I wouldn't take(much) pain relief for it, if its only natural muscle soreness. My theory is that you might injure yourself and not even realize it!

I don't imagine there's any problem. Advil is ibuprofen, while Bayer is aspirin. The only one I'd be worried about is acetaminophen (Tylenol). Just make sure you don't take too much.

I would just take one, or at most, alternate between them, don't put them both in stomach at the same time.
Only take them if you really need to make the pain go away, because what that does is slow down the healing process. (Anti-Inflammatory means less blood goes to the areas of your body that is injured, and in doing so, it doesn't create as much pain.)
