The Sovereign Military Order of Malta is actually the smallest country in the world. It is also in Rome and much smaller than the Vatican. It has its own stamps and issues its own passports, etc.

The Vatican is sometimes called a country. It is only a couple miles around. The one that I know is Lichtienstine.(I might have spelled that right) It is in Europe. I think it borders Germany and Austria. It is really small too. I think it is 10 or 15 miles across.
