Are there any pregnant women out there who are prone to migraines? If so what did you do while you were pregnant to relieve migraine pain? I keep getting migraines and I am only 13 weeks pregnant, any advice would be helpful.

try ice packs if you don't want to use tylenol. You have to make sure you eat a bunch of small meals and never let your blood sugar drop too low... eat healthy snacks and Lots and lots of water. and take a nap if you can!!! but if all else fails... flexible ice packs - on on the base of skull where skull and neck meet and one on your forehead will help a lot.... and a prenatal yoga or stretching class will help enormously as well... Hang in there!

Well as has been said if you have your blood pressure checked , and all is fine , then a few pointers , to help you out here , your blood sugar can be a nusance especially in the first trimester , and just past , try similar tricks to stop you feeling sick , for instance little snacks often , preferably fruit or whole grain things such as cereal or bread, and hydration can be a huge factor during pregnancy , you need to drink more than the recomended amount of 8 glasses a day at this stage, and rest can be a huge thing if your not getting enough sleep / rest can be phenominal, if i didnt give in in mysecond pregnancy id be almost knocked of my feet til i slept , and bingo theres relief. Lots of little things can make the difference, oh also things like reducing your caffeine or a little like migraines , see if there is anything that may be triggereing it directly. Personally i found a combination of keeping blood sugar stable with little healthy snacks , and lots of sleep and plenty of water , all these things helped to just to say make the headaches managable. Best of luck...

i had the same thing happen. I'm 33 weeks and Ive suffered through migraines my life and all through the first trimester and half of the second. i took Tylenol that's the only thing that doctors recommend. Tylenol regular or off brand Tylenol(acetaminophen) extra strength i would only take one extra strength but if severe two and no more than 8 regular in 24 hours. try taking as least as possible.but i will tell you to check with your Doctor or the nurse first, you can also call ask a nurse.also try taking a nap and putting a cold towl on your head. also look at this web site http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/pregnancy/prenatalhealth/2035.html

I never had migraines until I was pregnant with my second child. First I would get the zigzag in my vision and then I had thirty minutes to get prepared. I took two Ibuprofen, drank a Dr Pepper (normally I did not drink caffeine during pregnancy) I took a hot shower and massaged my scalp. Then laid down in a cool dark room. I still get migraines a few times a year when I ovulate. I don't have them enough to take a Rx so my system works pretty good. I hope don't get them too bad.

I was suffering from sever migraines, and when I went to the doctor I found out I was dehydrated. I started drinking 64oz a day and didn't get another migraine.

I'm sorry for your pain. I've been there. I had numerous migraines throughout both of my pregnancies and was really stuck as there was nothing I could take or do.

Tylenol is the only thing you can take

Consult with your OB doctor about this

Please, please talk with your doctor. Medication in any form can affect the development of your baby. Use only prescribed medications during pregnancy....of course your doc must know that you are pregnant.
