I will definitely vote for the candidate that has the American people as their priority. I am a college grad and very well traveled in the US and Europe. I think that the amnesty will happen though, and we need to find solutions that will deal with the millions here. I think that it is necessary to think about ways to make all accountable from the employers to the illegals. I have an idea but I doubt that it will ever fly.
1. All buisness that use illegals as workers must make that public information. That way we can choose not to use their services or get an "illegal discount" . This is especially important to those in the construction fields. The Mexicans may work hard, but they are not trained professionals like the American builders. Would you want to know who is actually building your $350;000 house?
2. In states most affected by Illegal immigrants, mandate a reduction in property tax and levy a flat sales tax of maybe 10%. Those who work and own property would see some savings to counteract the sales tax and Illegals would be forced to pay some sort to taxes to pay for their social services.
3.Make all who want to be included in the amnesty have a deadline to file their papers.
4. Make all foreign language T.V. channels devote a portion of their programming to english education programs. Also, they would be required to have english subtitles for all of their regular programming.
5. End ESOL in public schools. If theses children are forced to speak english they will learn it faster. It is the obligation of their families to teach them Spanish at home.

I thought that the area I lived in was isolated to illegals, but this morning I saw my first group standing on the corner of a busy intersection. It is not just a problem for the south. As a nation, we have earned the right to say that we want a solution to this invasion. The outsourcing of jobs for cheap labor, and using Illegals here, only benefits CEOs , Stockholders and business owners. When Americans are working harder than everbefore to barely make it to middle class, something is terribly wrong. The family falls apart because 2 incomes are needed to pay for the mortgage, college and the things that make life more than merely surviving, We need to pressure our leaders to think about Americans first.

It would have to include bringing the troops home, closing the borders, deploying the troops to the borders, and taking care of Americans. Solving only one part of the problem creates more problems ie deficit. We must end wasteful spending in and on other countries and divert some of that back to our country and balance the budget with the rest.

Sadly this has gone way too far, and we've let ineffective people be in office that should never have been there to begin with. I have a lot of issues with our government, but if we as country don't band together and elect good officials to deal with our borders and these problems then we might as well give up and change America to Mex-Erica.

Oye pendejo,

No I will vote for people willing to open the border up to the people who rightfully own this land. Yes it is an invasion and I can tell by your posts you are afraid. I can't wait for the day you have to call somebody with a name like Jose, Miguel, Juan, or any other Hispanic name the President of the United States. It is coming gringo.

I am certainly against invasion. I will however vote for a candidate on more than one issue. Taxes, education, abortion, etc. One issue will not determine my vote. Staying informed and writing your congressman and letting them know how you feel does help!

Of course not... Illegal immigration is not a problem. I won't even start worrying about it until after terrorists come in from Mexico and start blowing up dirty bombs. I'd elaborate more but I'm off to get another starbucks. Vote for Kerry.

It will definitely be one of my main topics. I want these illegals rounded up and dropped over the border. I want the border militarized. I want our troops to have a shoot to kill orders. A bullet is cheaper than supporting them for the rest of their lives.

Probably. I don't know if I'd call it an invasion, but I am opposed to illegal immigration among other issues.
