I had a problem with my dog constantly barking, I rang an old dog handler friend who told me to fill an empty clean spray bottle with water and every time my dog barked I had to spray water at her, not in her face though, its not harmful though dogs hate it and it tends to stop them within a few days, you can also try the few coins in a tin trick too, put about 4 or 5 coins in a tin with a lid, every time your dog barks shake the tin, it distracts them and that tends to make them stop too, you have to persevere with it as it can take a couple of weeks, but it does work and stops you going nuts from constantly listening to dog barks, good luck.

I once heard a poem about dogs that said not to get angry when they bark after all people talk all the time and sometimes to much. Babies cry when they want or need something dogs bark same thing. Alot of people get annoyed with dogs barking but its just there way of communicating something to you or others try to figure out why your dog is barking and give it what it wants or needs in reason the barking should stop. I once had a neighbor who asked me to make my dog stop barking I told her I wish someone could make her stop talking as I would much rather hear my dogs loving and protecting bark over her big mouthed arrogance anyday. It didnt go over well but it is the truth. When discussing this with someone last weekend a friend said its when the dog stops barking that she gets worried as she would rather hear a dog bark at strangers than have a stranger walk into a garden and break into your home because it doesnt hear a dog barking in the garden. A dog without a bark might as well be a dead dog.
So my advice dont stop the dog barking learn why he is barking and give the dog the love attention and playtime that they need. Once you do that it will be much to tired to bark anyway.

My dog barks a lot in the garden, especially at my neighbours little boy. I bought a special collar from vet. It's called an aboistop collar, when the dog barks it sprays a harmless but unpleasant spray at the dog. Works well. Two different sprays available, mustard or citronella.

Theres a collar you can buy at the animal store that lets off a smell that stops the dog from barking.

Before you try 'aversion therapy' be completely honest about why your dogs bark. If you can remove the cause, they'll stop barking.
If they're shut outside they're more likely to bark than if they're inside.
If they're barking when someone comes to the door then that's a specific situation you can tackle.

This is going to sound weird, but this is what we teach in our obedience classes. The first thing you need to do is to teach your dog to "speak" or "bark" on command. Be sure to use lots of positive reinforcement when it does what you ask. Then, when you don't want your dog to "speak" (or bark) tell it "no speak" or "no bark". Be consistent in the words you use to train.
You may want to look into dog training classes at local obedience/dog training facilities.

Each time it barks spray it in the face with a water spray.... the type you spray plants with. The dog will soon associate the water spray with barking and will hopefully stop.

We tend to think of dog training as a series of steps for teaching particular behaviors. To teach a dog to stay in a particular position, you reward her as she remains in place for gradually longer times, at gradually greater distances, with gradually increasing degrees of distraction. Now, this is fine, training does involve teaching dogs specific behaviors with a step-by-step approach. This week, though, I’m going to discuss three mental habits that will not only enable you train more effectively but also make life pleasant for both you and your dog.
