The quest to answer that very question is one that seems to be a commonality among all religious and philosophical groups. With that said and only assuming that you understand it's implications I will tell you this: God never asked that question. humanity itself did. this creates a virtual perpetuation within our psychological mind sets, which by sheer virtue, creates a continuously looping question that some how you feel that a relationship to an answer exists. Also, the question itself suggests an implication to a single person or entity and for support, will clearly illustrate the connundrum that arises as a result to that proposal. Furthermore, it is a waste of your time to purue that answer because of the nature of the question. These statements are not declared to intentionally ruin your sense of religion nor your spirituality. They are merely meant to ease your anxiety resulting from that query. I hope you understand. "You know everything; I know nothing, so it is your call." (On the other hand, I sure can't see why it should make a difference to God whether or not some dude died on some cross 2000 years ago. I mean, what's that got to do with letting me into Heaven or not?)

I would be the most surprised athiest that ever lived.

But then I'd ask him directly about his qualification requirements- as I'm quite sure that I don't trust all of the interpretations that man has done to whatever god's original idea of heaven was.
