I don't remember when I realized he was actually a hippy born too early.
But before that I realized he was just a carpenter's son with some really groovy idea's for society.

It took a while before I realized that in no way an important and influencial book like the bible could surfive midevil times as the church became the true power in a society.

If you are the only person/organisation through which an omnipotent god speaks with a whole nation... and this whole nation will blindly obey the word of this being under the fear of fire and brimstone in the depth of hell... how easy it must be to controll these people.

During the dark ages the power of the church reached it's peak as everthing that could somehow contradict the bible was forbidden under punishment of death... after intens torture.

No way did the bible, as written by the deciples, surfive all these centuries filled with powerhungry persons.

Jesus? I'm not even sure if they left the name intact.

The bible tells people what to do.
He who controlls the content of the bible, controls a world full of gullable believers.
That's alot of power.

By the way, condoms are ok with god now, but god does not want people to ride solar powered vehicles. Use gasoline! You god demands it.
(further news: Shell has agreed to involve the vatican into it's board of directors as it's director said "We can spot good management when we see it")

Yes. I was 17 years old. When I felt the love, peace and joy that overtook my soul, I wondered how or why did I wait so long. I had heard about Jesus and thought I knew Him. But one day, He became real to me. Beyond a shadow of a doubt I knew I had come in contact with Him. I felt so peaceful.

I loved that moment and have loved Him ever since. Not wasting another precious moment.... Just loving and living for Him.

It is a beautiful thing!

I fortunately never have had a chance to love Jesus. Most of the priests I've ever talked to said I would go to Hell just for asking the question "Why?" The last time I tried, I was 8. Thank you for spreading the hatred, lies, and deaths that the Catholic church spawned so many years ago. The modern society of bigots, sexists, and control freaks thank your "beacon of heaven" greatly for having a "religious" standpoint to back their actions.

I was at my home church and I was 12 yrs old but I don't think the exact day and time is important. My daughter would beg to differ with me because she remembers exactly when, where, and why
