Jamie Oliver, Nigella Lawson, Delia Smith, Gordon F Ramsey............... None of them wear any protective hat on their barnett!
Of course we let off Ainsley Harriot because he is bald but surely it is unhygenic to work with food and not wear a hat!!

Are these people so important that hygiene isn't important anymore??

I have thought about that all the time. And it's because they are more concerned with looking good for the camera that they don't need to wear hats anymore. They are too good and obviously don't respect their customers! I wouldn't eat their food because of it. That's just gross!!!

I think they tend to abandon the hat more often these days because the hat seems too formal. Chefs are the new rock stars, and with that persona comes a more lax attitude and approach to cooking. Which means a less formal approach to the traditional uniform, and of course a less formal approach to cuisine. I think that mindset has enabled restaurants and dining to reach a new level. This shift away from formal and snooty cooking has also made cooking more appealing and accessible to the common person who might now dive into the kitchen as well. Ditch the hats!

maybe cause they move around so much and so fast it might keep falling off on the floor and they dont like washing there hands that much so they dont wear the hats cause if and when it fall it would look like they are nasty cooks not to wash hands after oicking something off of the floor, hell they cross contamunate stuff anyway, how many times u see one cook and use different spoons or taste from the same spoon then put it back in the cooking part? how many times they turn on the water to rinse or wash anything? how about emirl the iron cheif ect.... this is 1 to think on next time u see some 1 on a cooking show

A television kitchen is not the same as a commercial kitchen. A television kitchen is like cooking in your home. No one compels you to cover your hair at home.
