Settle down, now, Honey. No need to get wound out about this. I didn't either realize I had a choice about who I was sexually. I simply knew when I met my Best Beloved, that this was the soul I had been waiting for. This soul just happened to be in the body or a woman instead of a man, so we both just went with it. We've loved each other for over 25 years now. Allow each one of us the choice to choose to love. That's a very good thing. Blessings, my Son.

I believe a significant proportion of those who think like that actually are gay but society/religion/upbringing made them choose to act straight, and they are therefore frustrated. They will then think that it is a choice. Imagine if the tables were turned and the majority of society was attracted to it's own sex, while you were strangely attracted to females. Would you try to fit in? If you did and then along comes a new liberated generation that rebels against the system you have suffered under, might you not feel bitter and expect them to suffer like you did?

You know, I look at all the hatred and bashing and death threats that go on against homosexuals, and I wonder why anyone in their right mind could possibly think that anyone would choose a lifestyle where they knew that such hatred was coming. My best friend is gay, knew it from puberty onwards, but grew up as the son of a Baptist preacher and fought against his feelings desperately until he finally managed to get out of the shell enough to realize that there were plenty of people out there who considered this normal. He has been cut off entirely from his family and many of his friends from church, received numerous threats from church members...it's ridiculous. He didn't want it at all, let alone choose it.

The choice you have to understand is to go against society and its fears, in favor of your own supposed well-being. Also, that everyone within a society is required to contribute to that societies lasting over personal choice demands that the gene for perversion continues also. This is also why families are given tax breaks. That I chose to remain childless could be considered more of a sin than those who passed the tainted gene on except that we who have foresight are respected too much.

I understand what youre getting at, but its not a very good point.
I too woke up one day and found that girls turned me on. But I still have a choice - I could still be gay if I wanted.... Some people actually DO choose to be bisexual. And, in some places (like prison), homosexuality is the only "choice" you have. But are felons homos??? I dare you to ask one!

Thank you. Why do people always insist that you choose your sexual orientation? I did not choose to be bisexual. I just am. A lot of the people who say homosexuality is a choice are probably gay themselves and just really insecure.

The only people who believe it is a choice are the same ones who can't accept evolution. Its the same ones who keep quoting scripture and don't have an original thought in their head

My bisexuality wasn't chosen; it came to me quite naturally.
But if I had the choice, I would have chosen to be bi all the same. It has given me the widest choice of possible partners, and enabled me to choose the very best person in all the world for me to spend my life with.

I agree, the only choice is wether or not you act upon your natural instincts or lie to yourself because you don't want society to see you differently
