VHS to DVD conversion equipment?

What type of equipment is needed to do this.

Not exactly sure I completely understand the question, but about a year ago I purchased a DVD and VCR combo unit from Best Buy for about $100. You can copy from the video tape right onto the DVD. Just make sure you get one that will copy back and forth. Some units just play. Hope this helps you.
