I had a min. pinscher. and he was barely 3 months old..... i bought him from a pet store for almost 400 dollars. i took him home, and he was just fine for a couple months then i had to go out of town so i left him with someone i thought was responsible..... come to find out when i got home my dog was dead. a person in the house had "accidentally" killed him. they said he suffered. i almost cried. do you think i should have the babysitters pay me back??

So how do you accidentally kill an animal unless you run it over and can't stop for some reason? How did this happen? Please give me more info....that way I can tell you my opinion:) Well, I don't think stepping on him would kill him....maybe if he stomped on him. And how can you accidentaly kick a dog? If you payed them...I definitely would make them pay you back....call the cops...get an attorney and sue if they wont!!I'm sorry that this happened to your pup:( When we go away we have family wach our animals...I wouldn't rely on anyone else!

The fact that you "almost cried" leaves me to believe that you really didn't care about the dog at all.

To buy a dog from a pet store only serves to perpetuate animal cruelty.

Contact a good attorney and never, never own another pet. You better hope that I'm not the judge in this case.

I don't have enough details on how your dog died to tell you if I think you should seek reimbursement.

I'm amazed that you bought a puppy from a pet store that actually lived that long. Most puppy mill puppies are sick and die within a few weeks. I'm a vet tech and have seen this happen over and over again.

I would deffinitely look into a lawsuit. Contact a lawyer first, and see if you have a case. And next time, hire someone who is a professional with insurance, who will be responsible for the care of your pet.
