In Indiana, we have pregnacy crisis centers.
We provide tests for pregnancy, and we also provide diapers, formula and clothing and furniture for pregnant and new mothers, single or married, no financial need required. (I am opposed to making someone beg for help, even in the form of showing need)
These things listed are always available. We also respond to personal emergency needs when they are made known to us.
These items do require that we know of the need. A shut off notice for a utility is enough, we still do not need you to prove to us that you could have or couldnt have paid it. The only reason that we require the notice is that we pay the bill ourselves, we do not just hand over the money, we see to it that the bill or need in question is actually taken care of.
We assume all people want to do what is right, and the only stoppers to this is alcohol and drug abuse, where the weakness is controling the person instead of the other way around. These kind of weaknessess become apparent very quickly, and when seen and noted, we counsel the person to get into programs that can help if they themselves want to rid themselves of the burdon that they are carrying.
If they do not accept this help, we do go further and make sure any children in the situation are not left there to wallow in it with the abuser. Sounds a bit tough, but children and their well being are what we are all about. If you want to take care of them to the best of your ability, we are there to help all the way, if you do not want to do this, we will take steps to make sure the child and children are cared for.

Interesting question! We always hear about Christians are against abortion but yet none of them can come up with programs that can assist the single mother.
Talk is cheap. They should keep their mouths shut if they're not going to help the unfortunate in long term. Action speaks louder.

There are many services out there. Crisis pregnancy centers will help mothers find placement for their babies if that is what they decide to do, but they also help out with stuff like cribs, diapers ect. Also some churches will help the mother out and also department of human services will appoint a case manager to help the mother gather what items she may need.
