"I was walking across a bridge one day, and I saw a man standing on the edge, about to jump off.  So I ran over and said "Stop! don't do it!"

"Why shouldn't I?"  he said.

I said, "Well, there's so much to live for!" He said, "Like what?"

I said, "Well...are you religious or atheist?" He said, "Religious."

I said, "Me too!  Are you Christian or  Buddhist?" He said, "Christian."

I said, "Me too!  Are you Catholic or Protestant?" He said, "Protestant."

I said, "Me too!  Are you Episcopalian or Baptist?" He said, "Baptist!"

I said, "Wow!  Me too!  Are you Baptist church of god or Baptist church of the lord?" He said, "Baptist church of god!"

I said, "Me too!  Are you original Baptist church of god, or are you reformed Baptist church of god?" He said, "Reformed Baptist church of god!"

I said, "Me too!  Are you reformed Baptist church of god, reformation of 1879, or reformed Baptist church of god, reformation of 1915?"  He said, "Reformed Baptist church of god, reformation of 1915!"

I said, "Die, heretic scum," and pushed him off.

I personally do not have a problem with it though I can point out non-biblical teachings in every denomination. But because I know I don't have all the answers and Im sure I get something wrong sometimes, I dont expect there to be a "perfect religion" so long as man is running them. I admit I believe that I do believe accurately, but I have had to change my views on several occasions when I've learned something new. Catholics have some non-biblical teachings, but so do Baptists and Presbyterians and really everyone.

The Bible says that the messure I use to judge others, it will be used to judge me (paraphrased) so, if I am going to accuse one religion of being false or teaching lies because it strays from the Bible from time to time, I will be judged that way too. So, I give everyone the benifit of the doubt that they see it differently than me and just might be right even if it's not how I see it.

That's a very good question. In years past there have been wide spread fighting among the different denominations...sometimes over little things like how to dress or communion, gifts of the Holy Spirit etc...but there has been unity like I have never seen.
There is however a difference some have with certain organized religion such as Mormon, Jw's etc...that have a different authority..or bible. I think that's where the line is drawn in the sand...so to speak!

That's my thoughts...but good question

My view is that people are reading too much into the nuances of what Christianity is, and they are forgetting the fundamentals (be Christlike!)

For that reason I have not chosen a denomination. I don't even consider myself non-denominational, because that implies a division and separation from other Christians. I mean, come on guys!

I don't really have any issue with other christian deonominations. I find a few a bit "unusual" though-- LDS, Jehobahs witness, 7th day adventist. That said, I don't appreciate if one sect says I go to hell if I do X or don't do Y.

Insofar as being reborn, I think many christian sects have a form of it-- I'm catholic so Baptism is considered the act of being reborn. Other sects have a different view of it.

In a more macro view-- I'm fine with other religions too-- Hindu, Muslim, Jew -- I'll listen to your views and respect them, just don't try to cram them down my throat. That is, respect my religious views. But in that vein, my view is that God has purposely manifested himself (itself?) to different people in different ways.

People holding a grudge against their neighbor's religious beliefs, the same thing is going on right now in the Middle-East. For exactly the same reason. Different religious beliefs are the culprit. These churcues are now merely "clubs", These clubs are now "street gangs". Street gangs that kill. Would you die for your religion, or would you rather die for God? I'll die for God.

I think that illustrates the interpretative nature of the bible. Each denomination has it's own take on it. It's hard to believe any of them have it totally right.

Catholics view those who profess faith in Jesus Christ as brothers and sisters in Christ.

I am charismatic... As long as they have accepted Christ as their Savior then they are ok... even if they don't have as good of a relationship as maybe those who pray in tongues b\c they don't have that connection with God
