How about we see where your getting your stats from, as 90% of stats are just pulled out of someone's ***.
In case your curious, according to the tests I've take I lean left a bit, but not much. Don't suppose you consider moderate a possibility, though, do you? I like to make my decisions on major issues myself, party lines be damned. How terrible of me.

Your grasp (or lack thereof) of statistics is alarming. Really, you sound like a moron.
Atheists represent some cross sections of america, and are more prevelant in some areas compared to others. Most tend to be liberal democrats, but some are liberatarians (like myself) or even a few Republican.
You will find almost no atheists who support a same-sex marriage ban, despite your idiotic statistical claim that they exist. Not having a dogmatic reason to oppose homosexuality, the vast majority of atheists beleive it is an essential matter of fairness.
And you 80% rule on gay marriage is way off, it is more like 50-50 these days. Seriously, take a statistics course and take notes, please.

Not all conservatives are against same-sex marriage. My mom's a dyed-in-the-wool Republican, and she's for it. Then there are the Log Cabin Republicans, or gay Republicans.
Also, about 50 percent of Americans who *voted* are conservative Republicans, which is not the same as 50 percent of all Americans.
Why are you being so hostile and defensive?

Your argument is flawed. A cross-section in terms of professions, race, etc., does not imply a universal cross-section in regard to beliefs. If it did, then 80% of atheists would also be theists.
Although personally, I don't see whether it matters that atheists represent a cross-section or not, so I'm not sure why people would feel it important to make such a claim.

You're statistics are skewed. 80% of those people POLLED favor a ban on same-sex marriage.
If you make sure the pollees are all from the bible belt, chances are you'll get a lot of brainless morons who follow whatever the local preacher or what ever the local con-man calls himself.
See how that works?

Mr. Let's Talk - I have a spot of News for you - statistics can be bent to prove any point you want. Did you know that marriage is the number one cause of divorce???
Seriously, lets talk - give me one GOOD reason why gays shouldnt be allowed to marry. One reason - thats all I am asking for. Lets debate this....
