god is a HUGE blunder of man.
in an effort to make the individual feel better he (by creating religion) has doomed society and all of its virtues (such as equality and tolerance)

God may very well be a blunder of man, but I really don't think that the inverse could be possible, or at least we would have to look at the question, "What is god and what is god's nature if god has one?". If the traditional idea of God in the monotheistic sense as an all knowing being with ultimate power over the entire universe which that God created I think it would be a stretch to say that such a God was capable of making mistakes. Perhaps if we accept this view of God said God may have been tinkering when free will was introduced into the formula...I don't see it tho...a being that creates a beautiful cyclical universe with such variety then "tinkers", nah...such a being wouldn't "tinker", such a god would or would not. That is why I think such a view of god is rather two dimensional and doesn't hold up under scrutiny. If one is to accept God as truly being in and of everything then it should be considered that always has be and very well always may be and we are (as a species) going to rise and fall without ever knowing as many other pecies have before us. If that seems sad, or loveless to you perhaps you should consider how reverentially you would have to lead life in such a universe.

nomatter which way you say the "blunder" thing, it does not sound very nice,
Why would you say man is a blunder?
that makes you one also,
i think your thinking is a blunder but of your own choice.
Why would you say God is a blunder,
how contradicting that statement is,
GOD IS MORE THAN A ROCK STAR, OR ATHLETE, OR WRITER, OR ANYTHING,
ENERGY, LIGHT, THE SOURCE OF ALL LIVING THINGS, AND POSSIBILITIES,
God is almost always discussed as if he is a living being,
get that out of your head,
GOD, THE ENERGY, IS A SPIRIT,
A GOOD BEAUTIFUL SPIRIT,
JUST LOOK AT THE WORLD, THE TREES THE FLOWERS, THE SKY, THE ANIMALS THE ENERGY, IS ENDLESS, AND YOU CAN NOT EVER UNDERSTAND THAT POWER.. SO WHY BOTHER,
IT WOULD DO YOU MORE GOOD TO COME DOWN TO EARTH AND FIGURE OUT WHAT YOUR PURPOSE IS SUPPOSED TO BE, AND WHAT DIFFERENCE YOU WILL MAKE WITH YOUR LIFE, AND HOW YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
GOOD LUCK
HAPPY HUNTING

Ah, the chicken or the egg!
I'll say man's a blunder of God.
In that I'm a bit of a contrarian Christian, I'll add this: God is nothing more than the summed experience of everything.

Let me pose a few questions in response. Could our souls be a part of the universal soul and could the awakening of intelligence be the awakening of God to its own existence?
Could creation be a part of the Creator making itself separate from the whole so that intelligence in the separate parts could arise and view itself from a differing perspective? Could there be no mistakes because all of creation arises from the same source and our part is to express who we truly are (parts of God) or resisting and expressing what we are not, as we choose?
Blunder implies an intended outcome, if you truly believe in God then the outcome is certain. It is in the journey to that outcome that we, as separate beings, choose intent and meaning to believe in. If you believe that we are a mistake of God then you will live your life as if that is true and you will suffer the life of a sinner. If you believe that God was a mistake of man then you will live your life as if that is true and you will suffer the emptiness of a meaningless universe. Choose your beliefs carefully for your life is experienced through them and through them you express to the world who you truly are.

neither one.
but life is really just so confusing.
I don't see why people think god is bad, I mean, if people didn't have something to base morals on, we would all be perverted wretches like the majority of the world seems to be, (at least here in the usa.)
i do not condone what evil people do in the name of God, nor does god.
Just as not all atheists have their heads up their rears, neither are all religious people stupid or psychos.
