First off, and I'll be frank, Lets cut the women drivers talk. I've known some women whole could drive circles around men and some women mechanics whole could repair cars better than men.So shall we stick to the problem. First, was the pedal very hard to push and this may have been for some time. If you can reach it, the cable is easy to check. If its broken, you can't stop there. You have to ask why ? If you have about 90,000 miles or so and this is the same clutch or maybe changed once since new, you will most likely need a new one. But this does not fix the problem. The most likely problem is dirt buildup on the shaft that goes into the clutch housing. This shaft pivots, one end goes to the clutch cable and the other to the throw-out bearing. To better explain I would need to draw a picture. You have to remove the trans anyway to service the clutch and this is inside the housing which is part of the trans. The second and less likely is the throw-out bearing collar and the shaft it rides on. If these are worn, it will also add to the problem. Good Luck Mark

I suspose your Primera our Sentra has broken the cable did you notice higher than normal clutch effort lately? If so you will also want to remove the transmission and replace the clutch kit too! Resurface the flywheel replace broken cable, clutch disk, throw out bearing, clutch cover, and if applicable the pilot bushing.
