Any explanation for the DIET COKE + MENTOS reaction?

Saw it on Mythbusters, has something to do with the carbonation
plus little divots in the Mentos. Also some chemical reaction.

The reaction is from the acid in coke and molocules in mentos. I read pepsi works better but haven't seen yet
