From what friends have told me: Atkins makes you smelly and you cannot eat chocolate/fruit or drink any booze!
South Beach - you do lose weight but you can feel very weak.
Give them both a try by all means to form your own opinion.

I felt that the Atkins diet was the easiest for me... You HAVE to read about both. Don't just take bits and pieces and go gung ho on it. Some people say "oh, Atkins is the eat all kinds of meat diet" NO, that's not it.
It's more like the AVOID CARBS diet, or GET YOUR CARBS FROM VEGETABLES diet.
All I did, really, was take my regular diet and get rid of the Unnecessary carbs in it. No potato chips.. no potatos, no pasta, no bread, no sugar, no soda, no processed snack foods.. no cereal.
For breakfast I would have 2 hard boiled eggs, maybe bacon or sausage.
I drank lots of water and green tea.
I pre cooked chicken breasts for dinner... I ate LOTS OF SPINACH... this is a really good filler and I happen to love spinach.
But this is me.. You need to get educated before you get on these diets...

make your own diet. atkins and south beach are a joke!... theyre a waste of time and money. go to a grocery store, read your labels and get foods with moderate carbs, high protein and low fat. the only fat you should have is unsaturated fats (about once or twice a week) good luck!
