If non-Morman Christians are somewhat offended by the Mormon belief in a more recent Jesus chapter on earth (in N. America), why shouldn't Jews be somewhat offended by the Christian belief that the messiah has already come? Both involve an additional chapter of holy claims and text. Thanks. =)

Christians are not "offended" by the Mormon beliefs in a more recent Jesus chapter on earth, personally I would be thrilled if it was true. As I said, we're not offended, we just don't believe it. (Same thing the Jewish people think about us I imagine)

Hope that helps,

Josh K.

Jews are offended by the Christian belief -- I don't know if offended is really the right word -- they just don't believe that Jesus is the messiah. They're still waiting for their messiah to come, and they really don't know who it will be, but they're certain it is not Jesus. On the other hand, there are Messianic Jews who do believe that Jesus (Yeshua) is the Messiah, and that there will be a second coming -- just like the Christians believe. For Jews and Messianic Jews alike, the only true Bible is the Old Testament, particularly the Torah, or the five books of Moses. No additional chapters of holy claims or text is necessary.

I think because most christian churches neglected the fact that the Bible originated from the jewish family, and jewish belief is no more an true religion according to most Christian belief.

On the othe hand, the Mormons claimed to serve the Jesus Christ that most christian church believe in, and if the Mormons are correct, all the other churches would be wrong, so the Mormon doctrine is a much more direct threat and contradiction to most christian belief.
